I think we have touched on this subjcet but ages ago and I can't seem to find anything, ( I am also googling)---I have a new submissive who is learning to open up about his feelings, rather than have a gizillion emails, I'd like to see him journal--I know yahoo removed their 360 journalling feature, can anyone recommend an online pw protected journal site?

They can do it with a MySpace account, set everything to friends only, and make your MySpace their only friend. They can also set it to just private and no one can read it. That is what my girl does.

Perhaps you can have him write longhand and mail you a copy. There is something a bit more tangible and expressive to that, I think. Perhaps elegant paper and a fine pen to boot. Me, I don't want them to open up about their damn fucking feelings. Just can-it and get the dishes done.

Livejournal (www.livejournal.com) is an option. Another new journaling platform is Dreamwidth (www.dreamwidth.com), which is invite-only right now, but if you want an invite, send me an message here and I'd be happy to send you an invite code. Both of these sites are free and allow a writer to set the security level on their posts.

I use LiveJournal.com and love it. I know others who use WordPress.com and love it. Either can be set to make a single post or the entire journal Friends Only. You'll have to have an account on the service and the person will have to add you to their Friends list in order for you to view the entries. LiveJournal also has an option to create subject filters. So, if you have some friends who would be squicked by BDSM and related topics and others who are okay with it, you can set up a filter for that topic. Only those who are added to the BDSM filter group will be able to see anything posted with that filter. I believe WordPress has a similar feature but I don't use it so I'm not sure.

Blogger/Blogspot (http://www.blogger.com) is perfect for this, too. Some of my friends use it for the same purpose. It is possible to arrange your blog in Blogspot to be viewed by certain people. I guess the readers need to have a Blogger account, and this replaces your password protection need anyway. After you create a blog, go to Settings/Permissions, choose Only people I choose there and write e-mail addresses (which were used for signing in for Blogspot, not sure any mail would work) of the readers there. And bingo, you have a journal that can be reached by any computer on net only after the correct username and password of the readers/writers You may also want to disable Add your blog to our listings? and Let search engines find your blog? options in Setting/Basic.

Might I add that you can set the MySpace journals to Preferred List Only, and it will allow you to see what is written, but it pulls up an error message for others.
