Hasta la vista, baybee.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Annoucement. Leaving/violation of free speech (7/28/2009 1:45:21 PM)

It's been a rough day.  A surreal shitstorm is going down on a few of my threads elsewhere, and my head is exploding.  I remembered a thread that I somehow missed a few years back, and went to read (well, skim) it.

Tap.  Tap.  Taptaptap.....

If that is not freedom of speech, I do NOT know what is!

Musicmystery -> RE: Annoucement. Leaving/violation of free speech (7/28/2009 1:50:37 PM)

Free speech is a principle of a government.

This isn't a government. They can do whatever they want.

Same thing with the moron kids who mouth off to the boss and claim their free speech rights were violated when they got fired.

They had their free say. So did the boss.

Welcome to freedom.

TurboJugend -> RE: Annoucement. Leaving/violation of free speech (7/28/2009 1:53:14 PM)

there was a thread here before on freedomn of speech..with links to lawsuites
freedom on speech counts also online (propably hardly any one is bothered with it when it is limited, because you get a freeservice and you shouldn't complain)

To all of the subs who have been contacting me this is an annoucenment that Mistress Cheyenne is leaving this site so you'll have to chk me out on either fetlife.com or bondage.com or IM me @ [email protected] and very soon I'll have my own web site so keep an eye out for it, one which your freedom of speech isn't violated like this site does and yet condones others who have made threats, and harassment. Mistress Cheyenne
PS My apologies to all of those who have mad contact w/me but I have to go where my freedom of speech will not be violated! Thanks for all your love, support and adoration.

Really? Has there been that many? Just askin

Probably. Them subs are in multitudes, whereas dommes are rather rare, I have been told. So the dommes are deluged by mails from both desperate and not so desperate subs.

Edited to add: Too bad that she left before she could see my new personal 135 seconds record in the game and thread "Place the state" / "I got 90 %"; addictive that game.

Not the way you're claiming.

Say you start a blog. Someone posts a comment you don't agree with, so you delete it. There's no violation of free speech rights. You are well within your rights to do freely with your blog as you please. Others are free to start theirs.

Now, if you post something on that blog and the government takes it down, THAT'S a violation of free speech rights.

Freedom. Tricky for some.

SteelofUtah -> RE: Annoucement. Leaving/violation of free speech (7/28/2009 2:32:17 PM)

Actually the only people on this site who actually are afforded the right to free speech as it is are the site owners. It is THEIR Freedom to allow or not allow that is said or not said. If you OWNED the site THEN you would have free speech..

Liberties are taken a little too far when it comes to the concept of Free Speech.

This site makes it clear what can and cannot be said on the site if you violated that then you are moderated.

So Don't go away Mad..... Just go away.

Steel

**Or you can just read what MM posted above me because he said it first and is also correct.**

With apologies to Marty Robbins...

Out in the remote forests of Kentucky
I fell in love with a deaf mute girl.
Night-time would find me on the porch in silence;
Music would play and the runaway would say....

I used to belong to a forum where, to make a point, the site owner posted an announcement about "free speech", part of which read something like:
"This website and forum are my property, and I make the rules. If I decide that you cannot use the word "the", then that word will not be used."
Forum users being who they are, 2 years after said announcement, the forum regulars were STILL posting "teh" in place of "the". [:D][:D][:D][:D]

stella41b -> RE: Annoucement. Leaving/violation of free speech (7/29/2009 1:27:23 AM)

All my mails are read, I'm ready to go
I'm posting here to let you know
I hate to start a thread to say goodbye
But my heart is breaking, I am a domme
Frustrated by what's going on
I feel so domly I could cry
So post here and weep for me
Tell me that you'll miss me
Massage my ego by making this thread go on
'Cos I'm leaving this Collarme site
Because I'm sick of all this s****
Oh subbies I hate to go

This is no way to treat a domme
What with the way they carry on
But I tell you now it don't mean a thing
I'm going where the speech is free
Somewhere better than Collarme
And I have my own website coming
So post here and weep for me
Tell me that you'll miss me
Massage my ego by making this thread go on
'Cos I'm leaving this Collarme site
Because I'm sick of all this s****
Oh subbies I hate to go

Now the time has come for my leaving
I started this thread for all the subs out there grieving
I'm going to where I get my own way
I'm going to where they respect free speech
Where I won't have to sit and screech
About these times when I have to say
So post here and weep for me
Tell me that you'll miss me
Massage my ego by making this thread go on
'Cos I'm leaving this Collarme site
Because I'm sick of all this s****
Oh subbies I hate to go
