Surprisingly enough, books don't scare me...I've read all of SK's horror stuff, many times over, I adore medical mysteries, Robin Cook and Michael Patterson ( I think) are two of my favorites. I've read the Exorcist, didn't scare me a bit. I have a very active imagination, and can actually picture the book happening in my mind's eye. The Amityville Horror just bored me......the movie wasn't much better, IMHO. Now MOVIES, on the other hand.......to this day, I can't watch the Exorcist in one sitting, the lights have to be on, and/or it's gotta be broad daylight. And that was long before CGI special effects. And if you want to be scared a bit, watch the Exorcism of Emily Rose......keep in mind that she did ALL of the scenes herself, there was no CGI, no special effect gear. That alone kept me up after watching the movie. And it's based on a true story. Vampires are the big draw for me, both in books and movies....don't know why, the original Dracula w/Bela scared the living sh&* outta me when I saw it as a kid...slept with a scarf around my neck in the middle of summer, in a house w/no A/C. Now, I just love the movies. I've read the Twilight series 3 times, The Sookie Stackhouse novels 3 x's, and have started on the House of Night books, watched the first season on True Blood on dvd 3x's, have the Blade series, The Underworld series, Van Helsing, Dracula, the good one w/ Gary Oldman and Wynona Rider, all on dvd. Each holds it's own draw for me. Werewolves are good too.
