I always liked White Wolf / WoD / Black Dog games. I actually liked the Table Top games much better that LARP. LARP is fun but there was always to much drama with OOC personal issues, knowledge, and favortisim.

I played those WAY 'back in the day.' I had quite the collection of rule books.

and Resident Evil 5 will come to the pc finally :D

i've played resident evil 5, it's fun but it's too short. i miss the old style of RE games to be honest

I have the old ones too. I love them...they really scared you.
The last episodes were more like shooters only.

I played video games for days at a time, some good some bad some that no one else would play for more then 5 minutes. Ever heard of Crack attack? I spent 2 months and 6hours + a day on that. Also i used to play CS and CSS till my eyes bled, i got quite good at it as well.

the old ones were amazing. the first was just awesome because it completely revolutionized gaming. the third resident evil had to be the scariest because of how random and dangerous nemesis is *cringes*

AoC is set in the world of Conan the barbarian. You have 3 races and 11 different classes to play. There are lots of quests that you can do, PvP and sieges against different guilds cities. The graphics are really great to look at, not cartoony as WoW.

fadedshadow -> RE: Gaming (7/30/2009 7:15:31 AM)

they're both computer games, right?

travelgman -> RE: Gaming (7/30/2009 10:24:57 AM)

Have been a gamer all my life. Still love board games. As was mentioned about D+D. Get a good group. The interaction amongst the people is a big part of what makes board games so fun. Knowing who you can manipulate to get your way and who you can set against each other to allow you to cruise to the win:)

D+D or any game like it. It's a blast setting your imagination and story against a whole group of people.

Literally grew up on video games.

Started out in the arcades and still love a good stand up game or  full motion game these days. First home video game  I ever played was a detective story set in a haunted house. Where you read the text and typed in a reply and the game decided what happened next based on what you typed.  Pong, All the Atari classics.Played lots of different games from puzzles to shooters. Mario to Lemmings to Ghost Recon to Painkiller.

Tabletop RPG's and LARP for me, preferably boffer larp so I can get my exercise, my cosplay and my gaming fix on all at the same time.  [8D]

LARP? for some reason i want to think that stands for "live action role play"

am i correct?

Yep.

LadyNTrainer -> RE: Gaming (7/30/2009 10:51:17 AM)

Correct.  Popular larps are Nero and Amtgard for boffer, and WoD/White Wolf otherwise.

Apocalypso -> RE: Gaming (7/30/2009 10:56:07 AM)

I heart White Wolf.  Mostly for the fact that LARP events were suddenly full of people I actually would be pleased to see naked as opposed to repulsed.  No offense to any of my friends, naturally.  [:D]  I'm actually one of the organisers of a small post-apocalyptic sci-fi LARP over here in the UK.

I play RPG's as well, Paranoia XP, the new Changeling, Warhammer FRP, Unknown Armies are probably my favourites.  And I love boardgames and collect them.  I've got over a hundred.

fadedshadow -> RE: Gaming (7/30/2009 10:56:32 AM)

nero? when i hear (in this case see) nero, i think of devil may cry 4

We didn't use Amtguard for LARP-ing. We just beat the shit out of each other.

Luckily, I was never on there. My amtguard days were long before the widespread use of the internet for video purposes. If the internet had been in widespread use at the time, I'm sure I'd have been the "lightning bolt" guy as my favorite character to play was a mage. I just loved knowing with a single hit, I could smite anyone on the opposing team.

TurboJugend -> RE: Gaming (7/30/2009 12:27:25 PM)

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh    a shame

When it comes to Amtgard, I keep treating it more as a sport versus rp. Yep, I'm a stick jock that's Level 6 Monk and Level 6 Assassian with 7 owls, 4 warriors, and some other levels and nick naks.
