About two weeks ago, I had a marble sized bump under my arm. I read somewhere that certain anti-perspirants could block the sweat from being secreted, and cause this. So, I stopped using the roll on, and went to a spray. Seemed to work, as the bump rapidly went away.

Now, I have 5 or 6 smaller, but equally painful bumps under the same arm.

Anyone else had this? Seems like I did, years ago, but not to this extent or duration.

Goodness Level. I can't say that I've had that problem. Do you think a doctors visit is needed?

I don't know I've pretty much decided that if it doesn't get better by Monday, then yes, I'm going to the doc.

Maybe if I had someone cute and naked walking around my house, it'd make me feel better.

Are the lumps hard and like you can move them around? Or are they like a pimple or rash kind of thing? Can you discribe them a bit?

Lockit, they're more hard, like an uncooked bean-type of feel to them. Not a rash, no kind of discharge or anything.

They could be cyst that aren't a problem, but they could also be glands that are inflamed for some reason. I think it's a good idea to have them checked out. It could be nothing really, but on the chance that it is something... that Monday to the doctor thing is a good idea!

Good luck with this!

Aylee, I was wondering if it might be an ingrown hair, but with all these others popping out, it makes me doubt that.

Thanks Lockit, I'm sure it'll be fine, and I will indeed get my doc on it, if it persists.

I once suffered from something similar during the summer months. It turned out to be a kind of fungal infection that was easily cleared up by a topical anti fungal cream, used twice daily on extra cleanand dry skin. Armpits, under boobs, groin area, anywhere that stays moist and hot, can become a problem, so dry the area's really well after bathing and keep as dry as possible all other times.

Having said that, it may not be your problem Level. Best to get any lumps anywhere checked, just for peace of mind.

Windchymes and holly, thank you both *hugs* I'll call the doc Monday morning, unless these things have magically gone away by then.

They could be blocked lymph nodes, Level which are easily treatable. There's something called lymphatic draining massage where they massage the lymph nodes and get them to drain the fluid. It's supposed to help a lot, I've had friends do it and they say the change is wonderful. It's just the body's way of getting rid of yuckies and toxins.

{{{HUGS}}}  Let us know how it goes, you'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Infected hair follicles, start by shaving for the time being and locate a good hypo allergenic or natural deoderant, most of them  have such nasty chemicals in them, sprays are some of the worst as you are also breathing in the chemicals. There are many very good natural prducts on the market these days and make sure when you shower, you wash well AND dry well--a quick swoosh swoosh doesnt get the chemicals out of a hairy pit and let them air on occasion---a wifebeater around the house for a few hours a day can let them air naturally and heal.

They could be lymph nodes they can be treated several different ways. My mom when I was younger was scratched by a cat on her arm (really cat scratch fever) and her lymph nodes under her arms swelled up. They just gave her an antibiotic, but if you let it go it can get worse and cause some damage.
