I'd say it's always easier for women, when you bring sex into the equation. Frankly, if a woman wants sex - regardless of her size, the conventional views of beauty/what's hot, etc - she can find it. The same is Not necessarily the case for guys. It is and always has been up to the woman.
Now when you remove Sex - specifically - from the equation, I don't think gender makes nearly as much difference as Orientation.
Good sadists are hard to find. And when I say "good" I mean ...... well trained in the use of the toys, combined with a willingness to keep power bullshit out of things once the play time is Over. Masochists - or submissives who are willing to endure pain even if they don't Enjoy it the way those like myself do - are easy to find, even if they have widely varying tolerance levels.
For someone like myself, finding playpartners is a true challenge. I enjoy being on the recieving end of pain. I do NOT enjoy having some schmuck think that once he's used a flogger on me that I'm going to follow him around, setting aside my good sense and independance, turning weak in the knee (and essentially braindead) if he happens to snap his fingers in my direction - or that I'm automatically going to fuck him simply because I allowed him to flog me. (And before yall start protesting that "doms" aren't like that - that is Exactly what My experience with them has been over the course of the past 20 years.) When I'm in the mood to weild the flogger instead of recieving it - I absolutely don't want to have to put up with someone that's going to follow me around making puppydog eyes and asking what they can do for me constantly. (Hint - you made yourself a target of opportunity - you already did for me all you Can do for me. You'd be surprised at how many get offended when they get told that, though.)
