Daddyssidney -> Kinda N a sad mood (8/4/2009 6:32:34 AM)

I know this is silly and intellectually I know it has little to do with me.. However having said that...... Yesterday I greeted my Daddy all dressed up in the cloths (or lack there of) and makeup I *KNOW* He loves when He came home from work. I cooked dinner, doled over Him, and did everything to make Him happy and comfy. He was able to relax and went to sleep early. I felt kinda insecure because He did not coddle me... Then today the insurcure feeling has changed into a sad, disconnected mood. [&o] I know He works all day.. I'm in between classes and just kinda spend my time trying to make His life easier.
I guess what I'm asking is what do you'all do when you are feeling kinda down..when there is really NO reason for it?
Thanks and Be Well

If I'm feeling down for no particular reason, it's because there really is a reason that I'm just not seeing. It usually involves not having taken very good care of myself lately, so I make sure to set aside some time to pamper myself a bit. I also do some reflecting on recent events to see if there's anything I've missed that could be worked on.

Make a connection to something that cheers you up. Snuggle with a favourite plushie, play a game or read a book, go over emails/letters/pictures from your Daddy or perhaps write a letter to him about how much he means to you. Keep in mind that there will be times when it's nothing you did but the mood just isn't right for him. Put his needs first and soon things will pick up.

(I'm in a similar mood, I had something planned for tonight that looks like it won't happen. Makes me kinda sad.....)  [&o]

Did you ask him for some cuddling? Because I'm sure he would not have found it a hardship to hug you for a few minutes.

Figure out what you need and ask for it next time.
Otherwise, go outside in the fresh air, get some exercise, take a nap, rent a funny movie, see a friend.

Daddyssidney -> RE: Kinda N a sad mood (8/4/2009 8:13:55 AM)

Thanks for your kind replies. I have been mulling over why I feel this way. I *think* it boils down to not handling His down time well. I have to realize that His WORLD is not ALL about me... Even if I want it 2 be. *grin* He even said that He was sorry for being such a lump on a log last night.
I also have a hard time asking for what I need..... I guess I think He should be able to read my mind... lol

VirginPotty -> RE: Kinda N a sad mood (8/4/2009 8:27:44 AM)

OP, I'm in a similiar situation of my own doing. Not quite happening like I anticipated but since I started the ball rolling, I'm following thru. It's alot better than when it initially started unravelling but I still have pangs of sadness.  If you'd like to chat further, email me on the other side & I'll be more specific.

Take care & remember, "This too shall pass"![sm=flowers.gif]

I think women sometimes expect men to be able to read our minds yeah. I hope you are feeling better and can find a way to cheer yourself up. For me it is usually when I let myself get overtired and it creeps up on me as low energy and sadness.

Do you like to read and curl up with a book as suggested?

Daddyssidney -> RE: Kinda N a sad mood (8/4/2009 8:49:40 AM)

I was on my way out to run errands......and guess what? I left my lights on and my car did not start.. I just laid the seat back, had a smoke and had to laugh....

And yes, this too shall pass........ just wish it was on MY timing... lol

i make some art. Sometimes it reveals why i'm down, sometimes it releases the emotion.  That or go for a walk or clean--i use repetitive simple tasks like these to meditate. It clears the mind of cobwebs.

Feel Better.

slaveToKnight -> RE: Kinda N a sad mood (8/4/2009 9:06:14 AM)

Oh no! From a bad day to worse. Seems some days just plain suck. Yeah it will pass...maybe it will be different again tonight when he comes home. If he is in a better mood it may lift you totally again [:)]

Daddyssidney -> RE: Kinda N a sad mood (8/4/2009 9:52:54 AM)

I hate the fact that I let His mood... or lack of attention effect me so much.... It kinda feels like.. if He is good, I'm good...if He is upset, I'm upset.... so on and so forth...
Is this normal or am I too immeshed?

Golden614 -> RE: Kinda N a sad mood (8/4/2009 11:07:54 AM)

I think it's normal, I am affected by other peoples' moods all the time, not just my Master's. I'm pretty empathic and I can start to feel pretty bogged down when I'm around a lot of upset, or even just very tired people. Really, it's how you handle it that's important. Give yourself a little kick and do something nice for yourself. :-) Work out and get a pedicure, meditate, take a long bath. You deserve it! Hope your day gets better![;)]

shadowowl -> RE: Kinda N a sad mood (8/4/2009 11:12:20 AM)

no such thing as normal for that ;)   for some people they are just wired like that.  I'm like that  as well I'm deeply effected by moods of those I love.
Some of us are some of us aren't.     For me I think it's a result of me always putting my own feelings as secondary and then it's easy to feel insecure which can result in depression if left alone to long.   Strangely I don't have this problem if I'm not involved with someone though lol so I would say it's probably a result of not taking care of your own needs as mentioned above.   Though I know for me it's really not easy to do.   When I  get like you are feeling many of my friends suggest many of the things listed above.    Different things work for different people but what works for me is trying to focus on my submission and then depression becomes part of it and strangely I feel better like I'm suffering for them and there's meaning behind it.   Though over the years I've learned that if at all possible to avoid it by communicating feelings so that the "suffering"  is reduced as the partner or D are made aware of something they may not be and even if they are a little tired will make a bit more effort if they know it's important for your emotional health.

slaveToKnight -> RE: Kinda N a sad mood (8/4/2009 11:24:41 AM)

Nope.. I know just what you mean. I am just as immeshed.

OK - I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you are a tad too immeshed. Just because he is in a bad mood doesn't mean you have to be. You can give yourself permission to be supportive without entering into his negative space.

When my Sir is down, i am quiet but not moody. When he comes out of it, i am ready for us to  resume our normal lives. If i get in a bad mood, it takes me a while to emerge so best i don't. :)

He isn't responsible for your emotions, you aren't responsible for his. Neither should you take over his emotions. He needs to feel them for himself and work around and through them.

Daddyssidney -> RE: Kinda N a sad mood (8/4/2009 1:50:18 PM)

I agree about not taking on His emotions... And then again, He might have just been tiered I have read WAY to much in to it... Then ruining my day worried and insecure. Ugh.......
