Anybody here know how to stop a cat from constantly tongue-bathing the dog???  My cat and my dog are best friends, which is great, and of course, the dog loves it, hedonist that she is, but the cat loves to lick the insides of the dog's ears, and she keeps getting recurring yeast infections in them.  Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

I wonder if using peroxide in the ear would deter that.

My cat pulled a bold move.  She plopped herself down on the loveseat right next to the parrot cage.  This was at night and the parrot insists that night is sleep time.   So I am sure the cat was eyed all that time.  She could care less tho.

I don't know much about dogs, but maybe taking a Q-tip and swabing a few drops of the non-toxic apple bitters in the area where the cat licks, being careful not to actually let any of the solution get inside the dog's ear canal?  The taste might discourage the cat from licking in that particular area.  Or perhaps asking the vet if he or she has any ideas?

I still have a few items left to unpack from my trip and the suitcase is on the table right now.  Lily is taking full advantage of that and lying comfortably on top of the suitcase.  She had better enjoy it while she can because I'm putting it away later today.

Destiny, you're lucky that yours meows...when I lock KB out, he grabs the bottom of the door and starts shaking it...sounds like there's a SWAT team trying to take the door down!  He;s also been known to pull the carpeting right off the tack track in his efforts to dig in under the door.....

VirginPotty -> RE: What is your cat doing? (11/2/2009 1:10:09 PM)

Ohhh damnnnnn, I've never had to give a cat pills, only liquids.
Even Jimmy & Holly are getting liquid antibiotics tonight & for the next 10 days. I made sure of that!

Phoenixpower -> RE: What is your cat doing? (11/3/2009 5:15:26 AM)

mine are sulking...as I applied to all of them their monthly frontline [8|] The little one is trying hardest to get her head enough around to lick it off [:D]

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (11/3/2009 5:44:26 AM)

Well, now that all their horsing around has woke me up, they are all getting ready to go to sleep......little pissers!

VirginPotty -> RE: What is your cat doing? (11/3/2009 6:18:11 AM)

As I was leaving, Holly was alone in my room w/the door closed (see "Hate it" thread) sticking her paws out the bottom of the door trying to get at her brother, Jimmy.
Jilly & Jolly were pissed that these 2 came back from the vet smelling like other cats and are walking around hissing/growling.[8|]

mydestiny2043 -> RE: What is your cat doing? (11/3/2009 6:18:42 AM)

OMG, Smokey throws himself against the bathroom door, literally gets a running start and BLAM like he's swat or something. Some how he has it in his head when I'm sitting on the toilet I'm suppose to scrach his his butt(actually his back but right where the tail begins). And I ncan't use the facilities with anyone or anything watching me,man or beast LOL just weirds me out[:D].

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (11/3/2009 10:27:46 AM)

Destiny, try it with four little beasties in the bathroom.....and yep, Boo wants his scratches then too.  I don't remember the last time that I was actually able to go potty or to take a shower without company of the four footed variety!  I've actually had KB come INTO the shower with me.......nothing like having shampoo everywhere and feel something furry and wet brush against your leg......talk about a total SCREAM moment!
