Henry Ford taught american corpoarte managers a lesson that has been forgotten and it may well doom our nation, if you pay a wage that enables your workers to buy your product you will always have customers. Shipping jobs over seas and paying as little as possible means you have less potential customers which is a dumb way to run a business.

Henry Ford didn't need the federal government telling him how much he had to pay his employees. He figured it out all by himself. We should be doing the same thing now.

I know of two models for wage distributions: the Dem model and the GOP model.

The GOP model is to have the top guy earn as much as he can, while paying as little as possible to his workers.  Aside from the ethics, this creates a system in which the working poor have little to spend.

The Dem model is to prop up wages for the workers.  This can be done via a minimum wage or by unions.  The issue here is that the business is less competitive.

Neither model really works.
