I'm deeply saddened to say i am 98.7% certain i am allergic to latex. Since i was on the site and thinking about this, i was curious if anyone has any tips on safe play besides interrogating potential partners' doctors... Thanks!

You mean for condom use?

There is always polyurethane condoms, lots of sex toys are silicone now as well, and are generally using less latex.


Latex allurgies are very common now adays, so they're mostly phazing out the use of latex in alot of univeral toys and products. Its becomming a specialty material.

Also, if you are using gloves during play, there are vinyl ones and nitrile as well. I happen to prefer the nitrile gloves.

There are glass(pyrex) dildos and, as previously stated, various non-latex coverings for toys. And there's always metal and rope. [;)]

I am moderately to severely allergic to latex. Ive been in the Dental field for close to 17 years and ignored the allergy for a good 10 yrs. I was blood tested and they immediately said no latex. I do not find it hard at all being in the scene with this allergy. My only problem is liquid latex , when i go to my club and someone plays with it. It closes my throat , so My Master and i watch out for it carefully. Just use precautions, and ask questions before buying certain toys or fetish clothing. Vinyl is just as sexy as latex, and leather is awesome.

Just be extra careful when handling ropes/toys that you haven't personally selected. They can rub against others and get flakes on them, and even some toys unexpectedly have latex type products in them.
