One of many curioustities in the selection of mainstream christian biblical cannon is the inclusion of the book of jude but not enoch. The BoJude cantains many references to the material found in the BoEnoch, and enoch preceeds jude by a notable amount of time. Jude is now included in mainstream christian bibles yet today the ethopian church is the only one to include enoch in it's bible and it is typically classified as pseudepigraphica (not to be confused with the apocrypha). The question then is why was Jude deemed worthy of inlcusion when it's source material and predecessor was not?

I'm not familiar with these texts but I'd assume looking at the message given in the book of Enoch compared with the parts of it taken to be included in the book of Jude would give an idea of why one was dropped (if through creative editing) of if the book of Jude could have existed without the need for the book of Enoch and the book of Enoch was actually fabricated afterwards for whatever reason to change the intent of the book of Jude (perhaps the book of Enoch was too obscure or incomplete to be interpreted but others have filled in the blanks in a way that is convenient to their views.) Similarly someone could discover a new book next week which puts a whole new meaning to all that has come before. I suppose this is what religion counts on to answer questions in a way all people will agree with; it’s historic obscurity.

I suppose if you’ve read both texts and compared them you already have your suspicions as an individual observer. So what are they?
