6 steps to get Sarah Palin to the White House
August 14, 2009

A new - some might say - unholy alliance may be forming in America's corridors of power.
Newt Gringrich strategised today about how Sarah Palin can make a comeback in 2012.

The former speaker is often tipped as a presidential candidate himsel. But he lays out a six step plan for Alaska's finest in Politico.

Among tips on speeches and hard work are the following suggestions:

-- Write a book (check, the multi-million dollar deal with Harper Collins is in the works)

-- Join the media as a commentator (rather than slamming it from facebook)

-- Invest in some East Coast real estate (no word on whether the family need to come too).

Still, Gringrich stresses the following:

She has to decide how serious she wants to be about becoming a national leader

Until Palin makes up her mind about her own future, there's really very little he can do.

But if she does take that step, at least she'll have one of the masters of the political scene on speed dial.

I can't see it happening myself, I think Brook Shields has a better chance of doing it. She's probably got a better chance than Britney Spears though.

Newt is a hypocrite, trying to get Bill Clinton impeached when he's been married three times and probably cheated on his wives.

It could be worse. Rick Santorum has announced a series of speaking engagements this fall in Iowa, precisely the thing someone might do if they wanted to start building enthusiasm amongst party operatives in a vital early contest.

So in a contest between Sarah Palin and Rick 'frothy mixture' who do you vote for?

I don't see a problem. I disagree with most of Sarah Palin's view but she lives in a democracy and is quite at liberty to both hold and promote them. If you don't like her then don't vote for her no big deal.

I think step one would be people having an intervention for her and letting her know that being President will require knowing what is actually going on and not thinking you can govern with sound bites.

I think she is a joke but people should not underestimate her ability to communicate and an obvious appeal to many. If she can show to the vast middle she can think and discuss a problem instead of attack and vilify the opposition and hide behind blaming the media then who knows.

Personally I think she is the first of her kind a celebrity politician more famous for being famous then anything. Somewhat the ultimate puppet for the behind the scenes people of the far right wing. I am not sure she has the effort and discipline it takes to become President.

Therein lies Palin's problem.....she is a hostage to her own popularity...which is based on her right wing viewpoints.Appealing to the middle ,shoots her in the foot with what amounts to her base.Any approachment towards mainstream voters....would by definition be a betrayal of the right...and they will find a new darling to champion their issues.Leaving poor Sarah moderates who won't fully trust her....and former admirers who no longer trust her.

Nope,she can't do it...she is typecast as Sarah Baracuda ,the only step Sarah could ever use to get into the White House is to call one of those tour company's

I find it hard to believe that any plan, regaurdless of the number of steps to it, would suceed in placing a woman who thought africa was a country into the white house.

Your wrong,,,,,,the first was Obama, who by the way could not hold a candle to Sara Palin, lets see, besides raising a family she helped run a family business took on the big boys and beat them became Mayor then Govonor.......what has Obama done? hummmm lets see........he was a community organizer (which he was unsuccessful at untill he joined with the radical Rev. Wright....read his book) he was a part time professor teaching Acorn philosopy, he was a lawyer for less than a year, which he hated because he felt he did not "fit in" and where he helped represented slum lords, who in turn, helped him buy a house next door. oh and he wrote 1, though his name is on 2, books, read them both, they were not written by the same person, he defentely wrote the second book, it rambles like he does when he talks off prompter......he became a state senator for a year and a half, most of that time runnin for senator.....he was in the senate for a year and a half, most of that time running for president.... what do you think got him elected besides cleberity status? and what has he done since? hired a bunch of czars to run everything they can get their hands on and stay on the campain trail at town hall meeting that are stacked with supporters, did u really think that 11 year old girl was picked out of the crowd at random? more coolaid anyone? .......hey as the saying goes......if he can do it, so might she.........and least Sara Palin has some background experience!! And she loves America,,,,,,she believes in building America up not appologize for being part the greatest country on God's green earth!!
