I see no place on the message boards intended for asking questions so I will post my questions here.
When I view my own profile, there is a box below my main picture that shows my "friends." Right below that it says "Settings for this user" and has check boxes for 'block' 'hide' and something else.
Who is "this user" - is it me or is it the friend whose name is in that box?
Why would there be an option for hiding or blocking my profile from myself?
What if I want to block SOME friends but not others. Actually why would I want to block or hide anything from ANYone I have added as a friend? What is the point of those settings?  None of this makes any sense to me.
Thank you for your help!

You aren't usually looking at your own profile, although those buttons ARE for the profile you are looking at.  So if you click "home" for example (at the upper left of that screen), and a random profile comes up, and they say in their profile "under 25 only" or "must be 100 pounds or less" or some other criteria that doesn't fit me, then I have no reason to look at that profile again and I will click the "hide" button.  If they have sent me a nasty email then they get the "block user" button.  If I like their journal or want to come back and look at them again, they get the "favorites" button (which, by the way, puts me on their "admirers" list).

For those with an intense feeling of self loathing.

The biggest shock I had was when I let the twit use my computer and she left it logged in under her name. it all transpired within a few minutes. I got back on and voila! there I was. I am SOOOO not a good fit for me!
