If you have a sub who craves discipline and punishment, you can end up with her (or him I guess) being bad on purpose just to be punished. Not desirable behavior. What is the worst punishment for one is a great reward to another. The last thing you want is for your new sub to view what to you is a favored fetish as punishment because early on you used it that way. Set some ground rules and communicate. If s/he wants more punishment time, come up with something that meets both your needs without undermining you as a Dom. You want punishment to be taken seriously so wield it for serious things. If you are just looking for a reason to spank your sub, as Nike says, "Just do it."

I have met a new sub, she has told me she wants me as her master that stuff is worked out.I'm fairly new to a lifestyle sub which this is (as opposed to a bedroom/parttime); My question is what do most feel is fitting punishment for minor infractions like not saying SIR,and other minor but needs to be trained offenses?

Punishment is something that is used only in extreme cases, simply sit your sub down and speak with her. If she is a deserving of the title, she will have already beaten herself up pretty good already and there is nothing that you could or should to do to compound her guilt. Teach her what it is you desire. It truly disturbs me at the amount of emphasis that is placed on punishment. And I will go on record by saying that anyone who is has a fixation with punishment has dishonored the title and does not have the right to call themselves a Dominant

None.

You need more education on how people learn. A habit is formed by repeating a behavior every day for a month. If you see her once a week, then expect something like this to take a lot longer than a month. She'll be talking to all sorts of people every day, say a hundred interactions where sir is inappropriate. Learning to say sir for ten times out of those 700 weekly will take a lot of time. If you start punishing her she'll quickly learn that the only way to be safe is not to talk to you. Is that what you want?

Just remind her to say sir, and ask her to repeat the sentence.

short but true.

how much of an infraction can it really be? sub is still being trained? then train it. you punish too much, it will take the fun out of it for both of you. ...do it everyday it gets old quick.

how you train/ how it learns is all relative
