Though depending on the area even one room apartment cost a fortune here like mine. I regret sometimes that I moved out of the house share into a one bedroom appartment as if I would have stayed where I was I would be much better off financially and would not need to work around the clock my butt off and my fibromyalgia would not have gone through the roof causing me now to take medication.

However, as others said...downsize when you need to. If I would not have my 3 cats (soon 4) I would have moved back into a house share to save money. However with my furries thats not possible.

As others already said, I also would not be someone to be too gullible these days. BTDTGTT.

Sorry for your troubles and wish you all the luck to get out of it again. However I am in a high financial mess myself after I dared to trust and am happily struggling out of it pretty much on my own and even if I would be living down there I would have no interest to take another punt. Regarding housing benefit...whilst I know that economic is in difficulties...well, care staff is always required and over here (sadly!!!) you don't even need a qualification for it...you could do that work for a while (I survived with it for over a year when I made my mistake to come to the UK a few years ago...we all live and learn). Also makes me wonder when you invested that much in your childrens future why you did not secure your own place for good? Or once you realised it is not going well at least then considering to rent out a room or two, when it seems you have space according to how much space you seem to need for your furniture.

Thankyou for your kind words, I guess I will find something, though this site has not proved helpful. Others have made useful contact, people who know who I am but hadn't realised I was in the brown and steamies. OK why I spent the money on my kids, rather than secure a home: They were more important to me. Simple. I couldn't do both. £100k a year was what it was costing me. And worth every penny. I regret nothing.

I won't work for others, it's not in my nature! I've never done it and never will. I'd probably last ten minutes before pushing the boss out of the window the moment he was rude or tried to Dom me! LOL! OK I'm not that uncivilised, but it just wouldn't work. No problem, I will find a way to make a living now, I am resourceful.

I rather fancy doing something in the lifestyle, possibly. I'll see what turns up now I am looking. And I still have plans for my craft, to save it. I am not done yet by any means. Just short of cash and a home!

You know you're going on about the people who know you - where are they now? Why aren't they helping you?

i went through a similar situation a few years ago, I'm transgendered, but nobody came forward and I ended up homeless. But you know the thing is (and was) I was sleeping on people's floors for a time and I didn't make too many demands, and if and when I was required to work (in my case I'm a recognized fringe playwright but at that moment in time I was homeless and in need of help) and I was prepared to be flexible.

When I needed to work I worked, and I didn't care if it meant the work was unpaid. As for the lifestyle I once had, well that went for a Burton. I didn't care, all I cared about was getting back into a situation when I had four walls again and then when I had that about rebuilding again.

I'm not trying to make light of your situation, I'm not and I can understand if you feel you are going through hell. It isn't easy. But you seem too fixated on getting help from the 'lifestyle'. There's quite a few broadminded people out there not involved in 'the lifestyle', but the thing is it isn't your lifestyle here and now and I feel that it is this you really need to be concentrating on. What happened before doesn't count, it really doesn't. Nor do the people who you knew.

Have you been down to your local HPU (Homeless Person's Unit)?
Have you contacted other agencies such as Shelter?
How about CRISIS?
Have you contacted your local Housing Benefit Department and found out whether they will pay Housing Benefit for a bed and breakfast?
Have you been to the local authorities and seen the list of private landlords who will accept Housing Benefit claimants?
Do you have enough to pay a deposit or bond if there's a landlord willing to accept you?

What have you been doing so far? Just posting on boards like IC and CM? What else?

I can't make you an offer of accommodation, I can't make any promises either, but I'm prepared to ask others or give you more advice on the other side if you wish.

It's up to you. If not, I wish you the best of luck and hope something turns up.

Thank you, that's kind. I have already had quite a number of offers of help. And yes, I am fully aware of the other things and have benefits organised already. So yes, I can fund what I need now. As I said, it wasn't this site that proved most helpful as many of the replies were from idiots who probably spend their lives on left handed surfing. Thanks for the links.
