In any relationship, and ESPECIALLY power exchange, you have to communicate.
You should be able to sit down and talk with your partner and explain candidly what you want, and ask what their expectations and plans and timetable are. If the other person is not ready to commit to you then you have a simple decision -- can you continue without the commitment? If not, it's time to gracefully part ways and look for someone whose desires and plans are more in line with yours.
