An Officer's Experience in Our Christian Military : Dispatches from the Culture Wars

This statement is from an Army officer and West Point graduate about the constant problems he has faced in the military from aggressive Christian superiors who have badgered him relentlessly about his own religious views. The whole thing is worth reading.

Will… my sisters friend’s mothers brothers cousins chiropractor told me this article is bullshit…Put out by fanatics about fanatics because they couldn’t make it and needed a reason to fail to account for their short comings.

I trust no one that will not stand up for himself or herself…another shortcoming of this person…I hope he or she did not get his or her commission….

Heh maybe it is the same soldier that would not deploy because Obama was not a rightful President…sound about right.

OP

I was a chaplain's assistant in the Army.  This article sounds like complete B.S. to me.

Yes I did...and as far as I can tell it was not first person... either have the guts to tell it like you think it is and face the consequences or say nothing at all... This third person crap is just that.

Try reading it again. Ed says quite clearly this is a statement written by someone else.

An anonymous somebody else...that's the problem. For all you know Brain or I wrote it. The columnist himself says he is passing on something somebody else gave him,so while it is written in the first person, it really is a third hand account.

So you're claiming either Ed Brayton or somebody at MRFF made it up. Ed's character and veracity are well known.

No.I am claiming that whoever wrote it may have made it up. The author may not have actually even been in the military. In the absence of any proof as to the identity of the author we have to decide for ourselves if we believe it. All I am saying is that in the absence of such evidence we have no way of determining if the truth of the claims made.
