Finally I have gotten my courage up and have registered with CM, but only to be able to participate on the forums. Please bear with my English, as it is not my native tongue.
I have been reading the forums for about two months now, and the more I read, the more I want to ask questions and add my thoughts to certain topics, especially to the active topics about abuse/submission.
The responses to posts of some new members which were deemed by others to be ignorant made me hesitant to actually sign up. Being hesitant is strongly related to the emotional maltreatment, physical abuse, and rejection I have lived with during childhood and 15 years of marriage. Dealing with this is a process that is still taking place. Discovering my submissive side, accepting it, making it a positive part of me, and distangling it from the abuse have helped me a great deal in understanding myself. Reading the CM forums has been very beneficial to me. And yes, the search button is my friend [:D].
As my profile states, I am only here for the forums. I am not looking for someone, although there are quite a few people here I would like to get to know in real life. Over the last three years I have built an online relationship with a male friend, and during the last 10 months we have been exploring his dominant and my submissive side. It has been very good, for both of us. When we are in a position that we can meet, we will, and we are looking very much forward to that. In the mean time our daily interactions meet our needs. I have read many posts here about online relationships, and it is not my intent to argue with anyone. I decided to include this information about myself also to indicate that I have no real life experience with anything I read about here (e.g. bondage, play etc.), except for my own submissive side, my desires, and for my mental responses towards dominant (and submissive) people in my past and present.
I would like to say thank you to the regular posters here, for all the insight provided, the consistency displayed, the interest shown in each other.
For the record, I am majoring in psychology, and am getting ready to write a thesis, most probably on some aspect of abuse/recovery.
