i am very new to this site, lol this is my first time, i was wondering how does one go about locating people in their area?

When you are on the main page "Home" there is a search option to filter out people who you feel are "too far away" (Sort by distance.) Of course the next thing is to either send them a message, or wait for a message from others. But I'd also strongly recommend spending time in the forums. Sort of helps people figure out more about you.

i want to thank all of you for responding, lol i tried bd/sm groups in st joe mo, which is the closest big city,,,didnt fare very well, however i am only two hours from kc, omaha, and lincoln, and des moines,,,i was, hoping however to find someone closer than that, as i have found i dont do very well with a long distance relationship,,,,lol im a baaaaad wanna-be slavegurl, who needs lots of supervision, alas the search goes on, perhaps joining this site will be the catalyist that puts me on the road to becoming what i long to be, but i digress, so let me close by saying, again thank you

Try using the search by distance function as mentioned above. Start sending some mail. READ the profiles of the person you are interested in and send a polite note explaining why you contacted that person. Don't just say "You're hot. I want you to kink of choice with me." That will get you ignored faster than just about anything else. Remember, Dommes are women first and most still like to be 'wooed'. However, READING THEIR PROFILE and adhering to the rules each woman sets there is vital. Some are strict on 'protocol' - as in how you type with words referring to the Dom in capitalized and words, including I, referring to yourself should not be.... that sort of thing. Some of us can't stand that. I can't stand men who push for IM's, phone calls or ghod forbid, cam time in the first few mails. Each woman is different, most will tell you how to approach them. If you don't like the rules described in the profile, then don't waste your time or hers and move on to the next one.

It take time so first and foremost be patient. Don't be afraid to perv profiles and if something catches your attention send a an e-mail. Its funny the Dom I am getting to know I contacted simply to tell him that his dog was beautiful.(he has a picture of him and his dog in his profile) I'm like you in the sense that an hour away although local isn't in my eyes, so be upfront and us the distance features and mail controls. lol Good luck...

Okay, just a word of advice, when you decide to start emailing people please don't use this line. After viewing your profile, I would also suggest you you take the time to offer more than kink. You say a lady friend suggested you fill out everything you long for...why not also add things you offer a partner (non-kink) and a more well-rounded view of who you are as a person, outside of kink. Just my 2 cents....good luck and have fun.
