Okay....um...where does the domme part come in? The US is a nation of overweight people who fail to exercise enough. The does not mean all people in the US are overweight anymore than it means all dommes are.

I'm trying to get the correlations here.

I'm know this is a "poor me there are no fit dommes" rant, but it's just not gelling for me OP. And BTW, if I found someone who was perfect for me aside from a bit of overweight, I would snatch that person up.

Being overweight is correctable (and if someone is healthy who really gives a shit?) , having a poor me attitude is chronic.

As for my profile being blank.  That is the result of lack of success having a well conceived and thought out profile for years, now I am trying something different - relating to people one-on-one.  I haven no profile pic because I have a high public profile, I will gladly send all interested parties a pic promptly :)

Let Me get this right.

You want to complain about how people, who have no link to you whatsoever (friend, lover, family, etc) take care of themselves physically.

Yet you haven't been able have success with a well conceived, thought out profile, so you couldn't think up something that might be better.  In addition, you are negative about others.

Thanks.  I think I'll just stay fat.

Lockit -> RE: Dommes and Fitness (8/25/2009 5:12:10 PM)

The thing that really gets me is that the op states that unfit dominant women give up on themselves and hide behind the domina title. Besides how idiotic some of what he states as fact is... this part really is something that proves a disgruntled man.

Is it impossible to find a Domme who takes care of themself?  I sure don't tote a six-pack but I do keep in shape and consider myself reasonable fit.  My experience points to a very high portion of Dommes who just let themselves go, and sadly any that are in reasonably good shape know how rare they are and invariably go pro!

I follow a very specific, healthy diet that works for either weight loss, or maintenance. I exercise almost every day.

If you want a dom that's in shape, you'll probably have better luck if you don't open with complaints. No matter how physically fit you are, a bad attitude is ugly.

For each of You wonderful ladies who takes pride in keeping in shape, there are a hundred who have lost hope and hide behind the "Domme" veil to suggest that it is improper to regards fitness as a compatibility factor for subs seeking something long-term.

And you know this how exactly? Oh right...your experiences and observations. It is interesting OP that you find it acceptable to present experiences and observations as fact.

Stop posting as fact then. Basically you are wrong, your assertions are wrong, also being larger does not mitigate ability to dominate either.

As has been said, if you want a domme of a specific physical appearance great but why feel the need to insult those who do not

I must add that being larger does not necessarily make less fit. I know of people, and some personally, that tend to be of the large sort. They are solid as a rock, and could run circles around most. Making assumptions is not a good thing. I know some also that are thin as a rail, who couldn't get out of a wet paper bag without help.

What an inane ridiculous statement. In the UK, USA and Australia, being over weight and under exercised is at, so I am told, chronic proportions. The point is the problem of people, not one gender, letting them selves go is not relegated to any one sector of the population. Kingsters represent a wide cross section so why should this surprise you. If you relate to the sports fit Dommes then focus there. However you will miss out on some magnificent women if you do.

QueenStWest -> RE: Dommes and Fitness (8/25/2009 6:58:07 PM)

Sadly my experience on this, and other sites, suggests that the percentage of overweight Dommes far exceeds that of the general population.  You can name call me all you want, and you can even disagree with my opinion, but you can not say that I wrong as this is purely a statement of experience.

Lashra -> RE: Dommes and Fitness (8/25/2009 7:03:03 PM)

Of course they do and just FYI there are just as many subs, Dom, switches who let themselves "go" and others who are into fitness. Orientation has nothing to do with it, just the individual.

I take very good care of myself, physically, mentally, spiritually. I make sure I get plenty of sleep (try for 8 hours a night) I eat very healthy most of the time. Mostly fresh and whole foods. I exercise almost daily. Today I walked up and down the hills near where I work, during lunch. Tonight when I got home I worked my youngest horse for a couple of hours. Came in and showered then ate a quick dinner.

I am not model thin, but all of my medicals are great. My skin is wrinkle free and glows with good health.  I don't smoke and drink very sparingly. I do not drink soda at all, mostly water.

I have many wonderful people in my life that I love and that love me. I have very little stress in my life. I have hobbies and activities that fulfill me and have nothing at all to do with work.

All of that and amazingly, I am not a pro.

I am also not interested in spending any of my free time with whining, negative people.

stella41b -> RE: Dommes and Fitness (8/25/2009 7:10:56 PM)

Why pick on dommes? There's plenty of guys who's concept of 'taking care of their body' basically means pulling their plonker very regularly.

If you "knew" the answer already, why did you ask? If you are unable to find a partner, perhaps look within.

QueenStWest -> RE: Dommes and Fitness (8/25/2009 7:20:06 PM)

Does everyone on here feel the need to have some type of "witty" signature?  The wit of it dims the 8th or 9th time it is read.  Imagine if you uttered your "signature" after every sentence when talking to someone?

Lockit -> RE: Dommes and Fitness (8/25/2009 7:24:34 PM)

LOL... Dude.. you are just a whinner and complainer and if it isn't one thing, you will find another.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Dommes and Fitness (8/25/2009 7:29:28 PM)

Take a little survey...  check out how many MEN are substantially overweight, and how many of them are presumably hiding behind their "dominant" shield.   People are fat.  People smoke.  People drink.  Oh well.

slavekal -> RE: Dommes and Fitness (8/25/2009 7:33:20 PM)

This is always a topic that gets folks all pissed off.  The American population is getting fatter every year, and for whatever reason, the BDSM world seems to have more obesity that the general pop.  Not just dommes, but both genders and all orientations.  I am lucky.  My Mistress works out.  I had one a long time ago who didn't really take great care of herself, but she had great genes.  Her body was friggin' perfect.

Apologies for failing in my attempt to lighten the thread. I guess I'll stay out of it so as not to interrupt the serious intellectual tone.

My apologies.

I don't think so, and I'm in the fitness business constantly scoping for clients.  The percentage of overweight people in the lifestyle including dommes is not likely to be greater than the percentage of overweight people in, say, a church social group.   It is a pretty hefty percentage these days, no pun intended.  But it doesn't strike one segment of the BDSM lifestyle more than any other, nor the BDSM lifestyle more than the non BDSM lifestyle.

What about the overweight male doms who insist on finding a thin attractive slave?  Or the overweight subs and slaves of both genders who think it is a selling point to be open to their dominant forcing them to lose weight?

Some of us couldnt care less about someone's fitness routines as long as they maintained themselves as a healthy person and a useful slave. I take excellent care of myself, I am in top shape and still regularly practice my karate with Fox. However, amazingly, he and I got into our relationship before we ever knew one another's excercise habits. Denying chemistry because someone doesnt excercise the way you think they should is rather stupid, its a closeminded reasoning to why you arent finding who you want to find.

And an FYI, I have never been interested in going pro even though I am in shape. I am, however, taken.
