ManInTheBox -> Boondock Saints 2!?! (8/25/2009 11:56:49 PM)

So I heard they're making one...anyone anticipating it? What were your thoughts on the first one? Are the Saints good or evil??? I don't necessarily think its worth a sequel...but I enjoyed the first movie and probably will see it

BTW everyone should go see Inglorious Basterds its amazing :D Its just as gory as Tanrantino's other works...and coincidentally Boondock Saints lol

I really liked the first, but I don't think the premise really holds up to a 2nd. Half the fun of the first was trying to figure out just why they were doing what they were doing, etc.

One of my all time favoriates. I don't think a sequel as of now will be as good as the first. We'll be looking at different actors. We'll also be looking at predictable plots. At this point, I don't think you can actually call it a sequel. Instead, it'll be a new movie based on the first one and most likely be compaired to The Punisher. It'll be a good movie but will be serverly criticized by those who have already seen the first one. You only have so many plot options to work with when it's two crime punishing vigilantes with alot of guns. It's all been done and a new movie will just over do it. How many times can you beat a dead horse dead?

It would be wrong and once again show that it is NEVER about the Story or the CONCEPT but rather making money on a property.

The end of Boondock Saints where they are Interviewing people is intended to make you think about if what they are doing is right or wrong. The Point of the Courtroom scene is to draw you into the idea that Political Justice is not Just. It is Flawed in that there are ways to abuse the system and "God's" way if swift and just, do wrong and you will be judged and if you are found wanting then you will be sent to which ever God you choose.

To make a Sequal, all that could be done is taking the focus away from what the Brothers and now Father are doing and create a focus on something else.

I honestly ask anyone with a firm concept on Sequals to tell me what could possibly be done to tie into the first movie? Same characters but what was left undone? Sure there is a whole world to clean up and send lots of bad guys to their maker but that is implied in the first film that they will contine to have the constitution to keep doing what needs to be done.

The only thing that could possibly come of a sequal is that you see the same characters doing more grandious killing but it won't be as fun. Part of the fun of the first movie is them becoming more and more Grandious as they come to terms with their Holy Calling. Or they do a Prequel and show you how the Father got caught in the first place and how the boyc came to be okay with what their calling would be and perhaps the movie would end where the first one starts and explain the story that the Priest is talking about in the openeing Credits.

Either way I am sure I won't be happy with it but I will certainly see it and would most likely own it just because it would need to be owned.

I will do research on the sequal and see what I come up with.

SON-OF-A-BITCH

It's Real.

All the same Characters come back except for Willem Dafoe

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1300851/

There is the link to the IMDB Write-up so far it is green lighted for October 2009.

I am STILL very Leary but like I said I will witch it.

Sequels are almost never as good (witness 'Angels and Demons' which did not do as well as it's hype or it's predecessor) as the original, and without Willem Dafoe, it kinda probably won't do it for Me..

FangsNfeet -> RE: Boondock Saints 2!?! (8/26/2009 10:13:23 PM)

Instead of becoming a movie, I'd rather read this sequals in a comic book or watch them as Japanese Anime under the production and direction of MANGA

I agree with Steel, I would rather see a prequel that ended with the opening scene from the first one!

GreedyTop -> RE: Boondock Saints 2!?! (8/27/2009 7:53:35 AM)

I cant wait to see it...
