My grandmother, then 87 and living with us, smiled at me and said, "J, you'll know what I mean someday - I'm still a girl running along that dirt road with my hoop and stick in my mind and my heart." I had three daughters in elementary school at the time and didn't have a clue what she meant. Now, all these years later, those little girls are 25, 27, and 29, Grandmother is gone, and I'm 52 and a collared slave to a man who's 59.

She was right, of course. (Aren't grandmothers... always?) I'm still the little girl who loved playing "bad guys" with the neighborhood boys and being the one tied to the tree in silence. I also enjoy intimacy to a far greater extent than I have at any previous time in my life. Part of that is the freedom from the responsibilities of parenthood, of course, but it's also that pure freedom that comes from His domination.

We're also wise enough to know that these bodies aren't the same as the ones we wore in our twenties and thirties. Fortunately, we ALSO know that the most sensual organ is the one between our ears. We've talked about it. When our current favorite trusses no longer work, we'll find something else, or just hold hands and remember. If my memories of this current period are half as sharp as those of my childhood, I'm in for a lovely dotage!

I have a tendency to absorb information... read read read and not say anything... but I cannot even believe that when I'm 90 I won't enjoy a nice hair pulling (if I have any left) and a few good smacks... (wonder how that will ripple then...) After all... I enjoy sex more than I did when I was younger... Time only adds to my experience... Im looking very forward to aging with kink. ;)

Not being able to kneel or do intense suspension bondage has very little to do with submission, really. It's an outward manifestation of submission but submission comes from the heart and soul, and the mind...not the body.

I see many lovely kinksters over 50 playing at our local parties. Some are in better shape than some 30 year olds...many aren't...but it doesn't seem to affect their joy of this dynamic.

I was in a D/s relationship for almost 2 years with a man who wasn't into seeing me kneel. I never felt that I was any less a sub during that time.

I'm 49 and just discovered all sorts of new kinky things in life about 3 years ago. Personally I'm thrilled to be my age...the alternative is to not be here at all :) I remind myself of that fact when I get whiney about aging.

Actually, you'll find a great number of older BDSM participants for whom the internet has simply never been their venue. I daresay that while they use the internet to swap grandbaby pics and keep tabs on their sons and daughters latest activities, they simply never consider the internet as an outlet for their BDSM interests.

The popularity of BDSM activities among a younger set is entirely the result of the internet age.

How I wish I could witness the changes you'll see in your lifetime, ownedgirlie! It's going to be quite a ride!

i figured the internet was a generational thing. i wonder what venues people used, to gather together and discuss prior to discussion groups. Can you imagine the difficulty in coordinating with anonymity. In generations previous to ours, being "found out" would likely have had even worse consequences.

Changes i WILL see? lol i am not much younger than you - so we'll probably witness the same changes. i have seen plenty of changes to this point as well!

Those who are in their 60's and in the lifestyle do not waste their time being on -line.
I know one Female Dommies who does not do chat like this generation does because they see no need for it. She has been in it and living it long before there was such a thing as an internet to hook up with. She does use it to talk with those who she is already been talking with them as a way keeping in touch with them. The only way to meet some one who is older and in the lifestyle is by attending local munches and events such as beat me in Saint Louis. I am onl;y going by my own experience and this is my opinion.
