My last relationship (for 3 years) was as a submissive, and I've been with my Master for a few months now. I topped a couple of times while I was "looking," and still feel very comfortable with most kinds of impact play, several styles of bondage, clamps, and such. I just found a new playpartner (she and I have known each other for a few months now), and am looking forward to being able to express my toppy inclinations. We're planning to just stick to the "easy" stuff that I'm comfortable with the first couple of times, while I get to know her reactions, and hang out as friends a bit as well. My Master is planning to teach me how to use a violet wand (I've had it used on me a couple of times), by co-topping her with me, and she also suggested that a male Dominant who she also occasionally plays with can co-top her with me for needle play (I've taken a couple of classes on temporary piercings, but the most recent was 4 or 5 years ago, so I would definitely feel more comfortable with one-on-one supervision and pointers). I'm really looking forward to exploring new things, and the co-topping dynamic has been really fun in the past. I'm glad she's willing to let me try things that I'm new to (carefully, of course). I'm curious about others' experiences in similar situations.[:D]

In My opinion, hands on training with someone right there with you is the best you can get. I absolutely applaud you for setting up this new arrangement. I tend to love one on one teaching of this type more than anything else. The best part is that it's new and exciting. The rush of being the new top learning is just about enough for Me to get a certain kind of learning thrill. I'll be focused and trying to soak up everything I'm being shown and still have enough excitement of doing something new that inside, I'm jumping up and down like a kid. That happens to be the cool part about the teaching side, too. You can almost feel that energy from the person you're teaching. I think that's why I'll never give it up. The co-topping/teaching thing has really come around since MP and I started doing it. Since he tends not to get the opportunities that I do, it's a way for him to learn, plus he really enjoys us doing it together. Something I think you are going to experience in this new endeavor. You'll have not just the fun of the scene with the person who is your bottom but the additional fun when that energy carries over to the two of you. I think you're going to be very happy with the result. One quick thought for the bottom that you are working with. (Thank heavens for those willing bottoms!) Remember that the teaching thing that's going on is just a part of the experience. If the teaching part gets too technical, it might not be all the bottom had hoped for from the scene. Make sure you throw in the fun part! This could be such a fabulous arrangement for all of you. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!!

Oh, definitely! One huge advantage of working one-on-one with someone instead of taking a formal class is that it really lets you warm up however works best for that particular bottom or submissive. Once they're flying, I can work with the co-top while he or she explains what to do. Usually at least one of us keeps touching the bottom/sub (a little hair pulling or scratching or whatever) while we talk. If we do get a little more technical for a little while, and she comes down a bit, I'm sure we'll be able to get her back in the mood again. [;)] I've done quite a bit of co-topping, but not in the past few years, and usually they were an established couple who I was joining. This is a bit different, but I really love the interplay with the other top as well as the bottom!

I echo LP in saying this is a great way to learn and have fun. Master and I have co-topped a couple of times and absolutely loved it. And I co-topped with another Dom when learning fire play and that was awesome too. All that's left to say is envy envy LOL! Maam Jay aka violet[A]

I feel really fortunate! We've been hanging out on a regular basis for about 4 months now (wow, time flies!), so we're already friendly/comfortable with each other. I was actually asking a group of ladies we were in for advice/suggestions about finding a female bottom or submissive playpartner, since the other ladies I'd played with were almost all part of a couple, and they approached me. After the other ladies got ready to leave, she approached me and said she'd love to play with me, and we got together with my Master and her husband to discuss the details. She's very smart, funny, and interesting to talk with, and we really seem to be on the same page as far as what we wanted out of it. [:D] I hope you find someone who you click with for the top side, too!
