DarkSteven -> RE: Fav zombie movie (8/29/2009 3:32:40 PM)

The original Night of the Living Dead.  No competition.

DiurnalVampire -> RE: Fav zombie movie (8/29/2009 3:32:49 PM)

I am a tad prejudiced, but my favorite zombie movie is an indy flick that is starting its post preduction next week. It is called Dead Start, and we are hoping it will be picked up by a major label. The reason I am prejudiced? Fox stars in the movie, and I am staff still photographer and designed the poster :)

DV

lol

FR, after read thru

True confession time: zombie flicks really plug my buttons; they scare heck outta me & I am drawn to them in a way few other horror genres pull . . . . . .

I like Romero's original, few match it's atmospherics . . . . . I've also enjoyed all his subsequent workings & re-workings . . . . I enjoyed the silly parody series 'Return of the Living Dead' & the bizarre antics of the 'Evil Dead' series . . . . . I thought well of Boyle's '28...' franchise . . . .

& since my tastes lean towards the sillier anymore, my favorite these days is probably 'Sean of the Dead' . . . . .

daintydimples -> RE: Fav zombie movie (8/29/2009 5:01:02 PM)

Sean of the Dead

it's hysterical

Grofast -> RE: Fav zombie movie (8/29/2009 5:59:28 PM)

Love all the romero movies, special affection for the 2004 emake of Dawn of The Dead, faster zombies

Went & saw 'Zombieland' the other day . ... . It was excellent, funny as hell & really bent . .. . .

Rule #whatever: Respect the Cardio . . .. . . Double Tap . . . .. Buckle Up . . .. . Enjoy the little things . .. . .

Fido....

soul2share -> RE: Fav zombie movie (10/19/2009 1:56:02 PM)

It's gotta be the original Night of the Living Dead, and yep...Shawn of the Dead was a real hoot!

Level -> RE: Fav zombie movie (10/19/2009 5:50:35 PM)

Anyone see Dead Snow? It has Nazi zombies... it looked good, but looks can be decieving.

Zombieland was terrific, especially the guest star.

HatesParisHilton -> RE: Fav zombie movie (10/20/2009 5:49:18 AM)

I'll throw in ones I don't think folks have seen...  even Kia...

The Blind Dead (zombie TEMPLARS, beat that!  good woggy early 70's CREEPINESS!)

Children Shouldn'tPlay With Dead Things (c'mon, the title ALONE is a WINNER!  It's also considered a classic, and pre-Fulci)

speaking of Fulci (and if you are NOT squeamish):

The Beyond and House by the Cemetary (seriously, The Beyond is not for the faint of heart).

he also had 2 other films as a loose trilogy of Undead Evil to go with The Beyond

Zombie Strippers was definately a Kia flick.  On of the Undead women question the nature of existence and quote Sartre.  another prefers Proust  (I kid you not: literature-whore zombie strippers)

The Frozen Dead (the first nazi zombie film, from the 60's)

okay, do we accept I am the horror Sherriff in collarme-town?

I think there are 5 of them in a series

DemonKia -> RE: Fav zombie movie (10/20/2009 3:03:24 PM)

Fulci's Italian? Those Italians can make some fucked up, gory ass horror flicks, that's fer sure . . . . & yes, you can be the bad mofo of horror flicks, if you'd like, Hiltie . . . .

oh, I don't think it's "if I like"...  it's about how many I've seen and own and even contribute to...

I am to horror films what drunken Irish Priests are to white collars on dresses for men.
