If You Drink Soda This Is A Must See Video. In particular about halfway thru where the guy is talking about corn syrup vs. sugar is very interesting.

My internet connection is too suckified to watch any vids, but sodas are not healthy, for sure; too bad I like the damn things so much.

I quit drinking HFCS sodas and now drink either unsweetened or sugar sweetened. I think I've dropped 10-15 pounds effortlessly over the past four or five months as a result.

I saw something on the Discovery channel a while back that talked about HFCS and how it actually tricks the body into thinking you need more of it and that the body does not process it the same as cane sugar, and how it tells the body to put it into "storage" (fat). Essentially it said that cane (or beet) sugar is far healthier than HFCS is. I strongly believe that to be true. In addition sugar, by far, is more flavorful than HFCS too.

For those who want to try alternatives: you can go with the health stuff, Izzis, and suchlike in the soda aisle, or you can go to the Mexican food section, and get their sodas. Potrillos are sweetened with sugar and I assume other brands would be as well.
