Extraordinary Slight Of Hand

No doubt about it, this guy is really good. There was only three times during this that I could actually see and/or figure how he did what he did. The video is good quality and close up to the action, so I say good luck in your efforts to see how it's done. In particular watch it at 3:15 and try to figure out that one. That was one I got but had to watch a couple times to figure out.

Okay for those of you who know me I like doing Card magic. In learning how to DO the tricks you learn how to catch them. That being said I am MUCH Better at CATCHING them then actually doing them.

All of this guys tricks were fery basic.

That being said this man is also a FUCKING GENIUS!!

Yes all the tricks are basic but he is doing 4 of them at a time and making sure that as one trick is completed that the next two tricks are being set up. It was AMAZING. I was catching each trick in that I know how it is done but what I could NOT see is the setup, he was stacking the deck for the Ace and Kin Trick from the very beginning and keeping them setup while he kept playing with Fran's Special Card.

So to summarize. Each SINGULAR trick is easy to so even the one that MasterG2kTR was impresed with.

**Answer to how he did it if you e-mail me and tell me how you THINK he did it**

However preping all those tricks and maining time with Shape of my Heart by Sting.

FUCKING AMAZING.

Thank you for the Video this guy is Good. It is the simple Magic that is the best.

Also I will tell you this that whole trick was done with a NORMAL DECK Any set of Bicycle Cards could perfom the same trick there were NO SPECIAL CARD this guy is just good.

Pyro,

David Blaine is a Liar, a Fake and a Cheat. He fakes almost ALL of his Tricks and Only Films HALF the trick to make it seem more amazing. He has also been caught using Shills in his Magic Specials

I love these guys making fun of him in the videos. That was funny as hell and helps to illustrate what a complete douche bag David Blaine really is.

Sorry but I hate that ass.

c-mail answered.

Don't get me wrong David Blaine is entertaining. But when you only show half the trick to make yourself seem more amazing it pisses of magicians everywhere. Using a Camera as part of you magic trick and specifically stating that there is no camera manipulation involved is lying and underminds magicians everyehere.

For that matter Chris Angel pisses me off too. But he pisses me off because he is grounded in Cheese Magic, he does amazing things that are usually very simple but spends more time building up the impossibility of what he is about to do rather than amazing and moving on.

Then just like David Blaine he uses Shills and Plants to do the more amazing stuff that CAN be done without them. The Best Magician I ever met was a Hokey 60 year old guy who did pretty simple magic but he did it 2 inches from your face and was impossible to catch.

I am glad to know that the guy was as amazing as I thought he was Steel. I am the perfect audience type for a magician...I never even try to see how its being done...I just go along and enjoy the illusion. One has to be a really crappy magician for me to see through it.

Back in my druggie days, we were friends with this old magician, that was fucking funny when he would conjure a ball of fire in front of a bunch of people on acid....bodies flying everywhere

I am truly impressed. He made every trick seem completely effortless.

Very sweet.

Thanks for sharing that wonderful video, it truly made me smile for the entire time it was playing, but then Sting singing was great too. I adore magic and illusions and am always in aww when I'm lucky enough to watch it be performed.

Haha, but I thought that's what illusions were all about, I mean if they were "honest" up front actions with out any tricks, they'd be called some'n else....Like crapy entertainment....or juggling....but it's the Lies ,back handed tricks and fake situations that makes for great entertainment.

FR

i was hitch-hiking in my youth and got picked up by a close up magician on his way to a cruise ship for a long gig. As he drove he asked if i minded him getting a little practise in. He then proceeded to do card tricks one handed about six inches from my nose while he drove along......phenomenal stuff.

I don't know Penn & Teller do the Cup and Ball trick with Clear Plastic Cups and Potatoes and it's still hard as hell to catch them. You know what they are doing you just don't actually SEE them doing it and that is AWSOME. I like Lance Burton as well because he still does some of the cheesy stuff but when he does you DON'T CATCH IT.

My Point was that with many tricks there is a set-up phase which is PART of the trick. By Not showing them you make someone only LOOK better than they really are. David Blaine is Notorious for this, he will show a trick once with a real crowd and then show it again and again restaged with shills and plants to make it look like what he is doing is more amazing then it is.

Blaine does a levitation trick where in person he raises up off the ground 2 to 3 inches that is the real trick, then they show you ata different angle which what looks like the same crowd of people where it is all staged and he is using a forklift or crane with Steel Lit Cable and makes it look like on the same day he levitated 3 inches and then again nearly 2 feet.

Most Magicians tricks have a Set-up, a story, a misdirection, and a flourish. If you only show the misdirection and the flourish and fail to show that he intentionally screws up the first time to setup the trick while telling a story to mask the misdirection you haven't done the trick.

A Magic trick / An Illusion has a goal to get from the beginning to the end without anyone questioning what just happened until it is all over.

A good magician canbe watched from all sides and still not get caught. David Blaine cannot be watched from all sides while perfoming an illusion, I know this for a fact. when you see him from the sides or behind you can usually spot the trick.

SO why is he Famous?

His Flourishes are AMAZING, he is a Showman, His slow talking manner make him MESMERIZING. This is why he has had much success.......... that and he does stupid human tricks and that got him more fame then his magic. The Ice Trick, The Burried Alive, The Standing in one Spot for days all these were the basis of his continued fame, the magic just got him an audience.
