If WMD had anything to do with Iraq If the war on terror had anything to do with Iraq If anything had anything to do with Iraq I would agree with some of the terrified. I am simply incapable, my 'intellectual starch-blocker' prohibits me from finding congruence or even coincedence it unreleated matters. I am for countering terrorism. I am for happiness and safety. I don't give a shit how many innocents are killed or who got fucked over, but I do care that we are fucking around in Iraq for no good reason, when our stated goal is to make the world safe from terrorism. To date, this has not been accomplished, nor has it even been given serious thought or any type of effort by this administration. Ron

You are correct in your first post and not far off the mark on your second. If anyone took a wider view of the world, they would see why we now are fucking with Iran as a natural outcropping of our recent foray into Iraq, a country whos name comes from Aryan, which their peoples were one known as. And it meant peasant long before king... but then nice used to mean stupid and bad used to mean--- well; bad. (heres a hint: it goes deeper than the it is spelt with a Q--- rat a tat tat -- no it is spelt with an N--- line of thinking) I fear a great deal of damage was done in kindergarden with the advent of 'The Weekly Reader', the definition of 'current events' should not mean this morning's yellow journalism as it now seems to. Alotta people never caught on that there actually was a direct and concious movement of (hopefully) fertile young minds to a view and at least slight awareness of world history from current events, hoping I suppose that as they matured, they would take a more learned view of the planet they inhabit. I am not a tv repairman, so I don't care how a tv works, but I know I turn the channel and I get what I want. All I saw, when Colin Powell (a man I respect) stood in front of the United Nations was some little pissant cropduster airplane. (Hmmmmmmm, I wonder why he is no longer with the company? Did it show up in the weekly reader?) Anyway, it was an entirely different situation when we went to the UN during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Adlai whipped some shit out on 'em. Before we invaded Iraq, the only terrorists in Iraq were a small faction of Al-Qaeda and a couple of Shiite militias. Most fascinating to me is how people who apparently cannot rub together a couple brain cells and actually read about a subject, would claim the very terorists hunted by Saddam who were trying to kill the socialist secular Baathists were somehow cooperating with Saddam. Saying the terrorists were in league with Saddam is like saying Hamas is in league with Israeli militias. 3. Conditions of the Iraq people. The people of Iraq have less electricity, running water, natural gas and oil production STILL than before the invasion. There is a far greater shortage of food, medical supplies, heating oil and gasoline than before the invasion. There are far fewer open and operating schools than before the invasion. More Iraqi civilians have died since the invasion than the entire 1980s. Yeah, you know what, they are so much better off, aren't they? meow
