I'm not asking this in a BDSM scenario, btw.

The problem my Sir and I are having is stupid neighbors who keep us awake till like 4:00 am every damned night.

We confronted them earlier and one of the idiots shoved me into a brick wall. That fucking hurt and not in a good way. My Sir called the shift commander for our local PD but the idiot had his phone set to 'leave a message'.

I'm not asking for a solution or sympathy. All I am asking is whether or not anyone else has had to deal with less than intelligent cops and the problem is NOT BDSM. It's just generally stupid cops.

Thanks in advance!

This is an EASY one!!!!!

I've had these neighbors before.

I lived below (condo), neighbor had just moved in....always new shelves, couches and fridges being moved....normal moving in shit....but after about 5 days of this (at 1:00 a.m.) having been the ever patient neighbor....I grabbed a broom stick.

And most decidedly made myself heard via my ceiling.

8 seconds later...they did as well.  Bang bang bang.

Okay....all good....I now knew the drill.  New rules.

Being the gentle sub that I am....I respected the fact that....they'd established the new rules...on their terms.

As it so happens....I get up at about 4:45 a.m. most days.  I live on the West coast....many of my clients are on the East coast (hence why I'm often at my desk in my office at around 5:30 a.m.)....and I decided "tomorrow" was a spectacular day to get up just a smidge earlier than what might be my normal routine.

Coffee tasted unusually refreshing that morning.

At 3:10 a.m.

I'd already showered, shaved, combed my hair...poured my coffee....and hopped in my car.

At 3:21 a.m. I rang their bell.  No answer.

I rang it again.....

No answer.

So....much like the clanging of furniture, appliances and other detritus at 1:00 a.m. the previous evening (and several others before) that I'd dealt with.....I let fly.

There was now absolutely no question "someone was at the door".

Mr. opened the door....unbelievably sleep deprived and said "Yes?".

I stuck out my hand in the friendliest of ways and said "Hi....my name is...._________ and I just wanted to introduce myself....I'm your new neighbor, just below you".

Mr. looked at me (wife, who had been making all the noise the previous 5 nights looking on behind him rather befuddled) and said "do you have any concept of what time it is ______?"

I said "well of course....it's 3:21 in the morning....did I wake you?....My apologies....I just figured that since you clearly didn't give a shit about my sleep patterns....you must surely share my same schedule....Hey!....would you like some coffee?"

Mr looks at his wife and says...."have you been making noise late at night again?"

Mrs looks sheepish....doesn't say a word.....

Mr looks at me and says...."I would not anticipate any future problems with noise ________...."

I said..."Excellent....it was a true pleasure meeting the both of you...."

Never heard a peep again.

Hehehe.

and my ex has a masters - is he one of the stupid cops????????

In this instance, given the facts as presented, i would have to question who was the stupid one. [8|]

To be a police officer for most departments you have to have at least an Associates degree Plus the acadamy schooling.

That is a hell of a lot more schooling then most folks walking about.

*eyeroll*

actually no, age of 21, to be able to carry a firearm, clean records both criminal and traffic, and proper training and schooling thru the department, the police acadamy....but most do not require college degrees.......now if you speak of FBI or any other such agency rather than local police departments, yes they do require degrees and then they have a mandatory age cut off as well before they will hire you.

It varries by state and county. My area ( Florida ) generally requires an Associates degree. That is why there are universities that offer Criminal Justice as a degree.

Most departments are move toward requiring a degree. Too many numbnuts out there to weed through who want a gun and a badge. I am glad many are switching to needing a degree.

And many of you are right.. cops are hard to date. Hell ex cops are hard to date. LOL

I never dated anyone on the PD. I was smarter then that. LOL I went after firemen. *Smiles*

~Though I did have one BC from a different department but we were on the DL about it.

This is a fast reply ( I only read the 1st page of this thread)
It seems you were assualt, in which case you should have called 911 or at least the nonemergency number. Most hostpitals would call if it appears you have been the victim of an assault or if you tell them you have. So honestly what your saying simply doesn't make sense to me. Also if you are constantly having issues with the police perhaps its your behavior, actions or choices that are stupid and should be questioned not those of the police.

VanIsleKnight -> RE: Has anyone else had to deal with stupid cops? (9/4/2009 4:53:22 AM)

When my mom had a stroke, and my dad told me, I bolted out the door, ran across the street (she lived in the apartment across the corner from us) and straight up to her apartment.  Had an officer chastized me for jaywalking I would have said "My mom just had a god damned fucking STROKE.  What the hell would you do if that was your mother on the floor?" and go back to worrying about things that mattered.

Incidentally, my dad is a retired police officer. :)

(this was a response to the woman who's mother had a stroke, I think I hit reply instead of quote)

GoddessImaginos

YEs that is a horrible situation and most everyone can understand your need to hurry and your agitation and your worry and fear. However,

While yes people always have emergencies wherein they want to get someplace faster -- these emergencies are arbitrary btw -- you can't blame a cop for doing his job. Also, they hear ALL KINDS of excuses why people are speeding and i can guarantee you many people would not hesitate to use a false story of illness etc. You are simply a stranger whom they pulled over for disobeying the law and subsequently putting people in danger. The concept of tell it to the judge is very real. Why? Because the cop is only a witness to what he observes, he does not determine guilt or innocence only a judge is allowed to do that.

Could he have been a little more sensitive -- sure, but in all actuality -- why should he have believed you over the last guy he stopped who may have said the same thing only as a falsehood in actuality?

Yes, people take things personally in their lives, but you can't expect a stranger to do so. Especially in a situation wherein most people will tell any story they can think of to get out of a ticket.

Also, due to the nature of the job, many cops do become desensitized (sp?) to the emotional factor assocaited with people who are strangers and sometimes even with people and situations who are not. They have to -- its a defense mechanism and a protection mechanism.

All in all, if you would have lost control of your car in your agitated worried state speeding, and it was found out the cop didn't do anything when he saw you speeding, he, the station, and city would have been liable for any harm you did to someone. And in the end, i am not sure the family of the victims speeding to the hospital to meet their loved ones you harmed (hypothetically) would have understood even though they probably did the same thing.

I see, but do not agree. Neither do I wish anyone that urgency in their lives, but kindly do not presume to judge what is and is not justified in Mine. I was the only child of this good woman, who is now deceased. I would like to know what My detractors do think is justified, under the circumstances.
Like none of you have ever or will ever speed for half as good of a reason. Ever been in a hurry to get to someone you care about? Ever been late to work, even once, and been worried that you might lose your livelihood if you were?
No? Not even a little bit?
Sure.

Please do not think me cold or unsympathetic.  I am glad I was NOT in your shoes.  I wish you no ill will, and I certainly understand your actions.  Doesn't mean I agree with them.  Also doesn't mean I wouldn't do the same thing in your situation.

On the other hand (you knew this was coming), what if you had hit another car and killed someone?  What if that someone was my mother/sister/daughter?  Your rights to drive your car the way you want stop where my rights begin.  Driving laws do not have exceptions for those times when you think you have a good reason to break them.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Has anyone else had to deal with stupid cops? (9/4/2009 1:04:19 PM)

As for the question "have you ever met idiot cops"  I lived in miami.  I taught high school.  One of the biggest dirtbags that I had the displeasure of having in 3 years of classes was driving a police car 4 weeks after graduation and I GUARANTEE that he couldnt pass a drug test.
Another time, a guy going the wrong way on a 1 way street hit My car and the cop after a long conversation in spanish that when I asked for a translation was told to "Shut the Fuck up"  turned the guy loose and cited Me.. turns out the guy was an illegal or something because the addy he gave was a vacant lot.  If you want, I can go on and on with several others.  Bottom line is that Im a professional with a couple of degrees and Ive never been convicted of anything worse than speeding and I DONT trust the police.
