so  i got up from a nap   -   and realised to my horror and shock - that one of my parrots had eaten the keys off my laptop!

It makes it very hard to type.

so - what are some of the interesting ways that your computers have met their demises?

all of mine died of old age... or maybe it was the Geritol i poured into them to keep 'em going (just kidding)

Last year, Butterhead sat on top of my laptop, while it was open, and proceeded to attempt to drink a can of Diet Coke.  That laptop is no more.

Aylee that reminds me of the sprint now net work comercial the guy  supposed to be on vacation, has his lap top open on a lawn chair and the wife comes back and he closes it real quick but it's in her chair so not seeing it she sat on it and broke it.

I took a sledge hammer to a recalcitrant Windows PC (dual processor PIII) and smashed it into its base molecules. I then went and maxed out a credit card on a Power Mac G4 system.

That was ten years ago and that Mac is still running, doing the original tasks for which I purchased it... video and photo editing and audio signal processing.

The sledge work was probably a bit of overkill, but if felt so damned good swinging it at the time. So very therapeutic.

my dad ran over my laptop with his electric wheelchair.

Poor guy felt really bad so he told me to buy a new one and handed me 50.00 [8|]

Yep, gotta watch out for those all-terrain electric wheel chairs. You'll never know what counter or table they'll crawl over, looking for those laptops.

My sister put together a computer for my mother, who is the LEAST computer savvy person I have ever met......My sister told my mom that she couldn't kill it.....every thing could be undone if necessary.  Well, my mom got frustrated because all the grandkids would pilfer her paper and pens from the computer desk, so she went to Wal-mart, got this pretty little magnetic pen and pad holder and stuck it to the metal side of the...wait for it....yep, the CPU!  It took the small magent about a week to completely kill the computer.  My sister forgot to tell my mom the ONE thing that she shouldn't do.....so of course, my mom found the one thing, and did it!  When they got their new Dell, my other sister stuck a big sign on the monitor that read "NO MAGNETS ALLOWED!"

My nephew attempted to feed his PB&J to a VCR once, and I, while having wild monkey sex one night, knocked an almost-full can of Dr. Pepper into the lightning ball I had just gotten for My birthday; neither device appreciated the serendipity of these gifts. I know they're not computers but I wonder if they could get an honorable mention or something, maybe.. [:D]
