Do some basic research, they're busing the goons and other DNC operatives in and having them set up the 'town hall' meetings, having them limit who can come in, they're intimidating people... its all very coordinated (apparently through the White House) and the goal is to control public opinion.

No big deal unless you value free speech and that sort of thing, which I do. No big deal if you want the kind of government they have in your typical banana republiuc, or gangland Chicago.

Proof?

I think the reference to the SEIU goon squads might have more to do with incidents like this one, than whatever you are trying to distract with....

I see no evidence that "SEIU goon squads" did anything in the link, unless the old woman with the SEIU shirt smacked someone with her cane and I missed it.

I do however see the reasons why the SEIU became involved when anti-health care protesters are dedicated to causing disruption:

RESTON, Va. — Shouts, catcalls and at least one eviction were among the highlights of a town hall meeting hosted by Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.) and former Democratic National Party Chairman Howard Dean Tuesday night.

“Dissent is as American as apple pie,” Moran said as he opened the health care meeting at South Lakes High School in Northen Virginia, where a crowd of at least 2,500 gathered.

But despite a Rabbi’s opening prayer for balanced debate and several requests for good behavior, both men were constantly berated by booing and screaming, leading Dean at one point to stop talking altogether.

A strong supporter of President Obama’s health plan, Dean oversaw the expansion of a Vermont’s health plan that granted health care to all children and pregnant women while he served as governor.

But when Dean took the stage, he was met by a deafening din of boos and catcalls, which pushed Moran over the edge.

“I’m sorry but I can’t even hear the governor and I’m sitting next to him. There are hundreds of people in this gymnasium who can't hear him because of a handful of people," Moran said. "These folks are not from the 8th District, they don't really belong here, and I'm going to ask them to leave."

Protestor Randall Terry, the founder of anti-abortion group Operation Rescue, who had warned local media he planned to make a ruckus, particularly infuriated the congressman with his screaming accusations that Dean was a “baby killer.”

McCain is Liberal. Bush is very Liberal...

I absolutely love how conservatives called Kerry a flip-flopper when they gave undying devotion to Bush and supported McCain, only now to claim they were really liberals.

Absolutely hilarious.

"May be..." However, if you are one of the non-Congress vetted Obama Administration 'Czars' you ARE a racist, bigot. Van Jones says the "white" environmentalists and the "white" polluters are the problems.

Although a bit lest racist than his spiritual Czar, Rev. Wright. ORIGINAL: Mercnbeth

I have heard this line of argument more than a few times and would like to comment on a few thoughts that aren't politically correct enough to make polite conversation.

The fact is, there IS a great deal of systemic racism in this country against African Americans. I know it is a polite myth that we all like to believe (and being a white male I am not immune to it's pull) that after the marches in Selma and Washington, that the country has changed to a point where equality rains but it is a myth. There is still a lot of distance to cover.

Racism is an ugly thing to have to deal with. Let us examine the reaction of the Connecticut firefighter who was told that he would not be promoted in the interest of "racial fainess". Now, I do not at all consider this to be a correct decision for a number of reasons, but it was one guy being told he wasn't getting one promotion. The horror and outrage was undeniable. The fact that Justice Sotomeyor didn't immediately repudiate the decision and give this firefighter what he was due was viewed by many as a valid reason to keep her from the bench. If such a reaction comes from those who are in the catbird seat of racial privilege, what reaction can we expect from those on the wrong end of the stick?

The vast majority of activist African Americans have seen a whole lot worse then one guy not getting a deserved promotion. Take for example, a social experiment in which a group of identical resume's were sent out. The only difference between them was that some of them had "white" sounding names such as "Mary Paulson" and the other had "black" sounding names like "Shaniqua Smith". The result was that the white sounding names were called for interviews 50% more frequently than the black sounding names.  This is just one small example of what is, unfortunately, going on out there. Throw in a vast economic and educational disparity, racial profiling in law enforcement (I have never yet heard the term DWW, Driving While White) and you have some real and serious problems.

Now I know we would all like to see those trying to correct those problems be of the amazingly strong character not to have ever felt anger, rage or resentment over these situations. Martin Luther King was such a man and his consistent refusal to give in to provocation and anger is what makes him a legend. But just as not all presidents are FDR or Lincoln, not all black leaders are going to be able to live up to Dr. Kings standards.

This leads us to a simple problem. If we are going to disqualify every African American activist who has ever felt enough anger to say something that perhaps doesn't toe the line of absolute fairness, then we're not going to have a lot of black folks in government. I am not saying we have to put up with any racist actions from anyone. I am however, saying that perhaps this "Why would these guys say such things about white people?" or "Why does Obama allow someone who said this to be in his administration?" may be just a touch disingenuous.

The left wing media in this country are trying to blame Van Jones' resignation on the Republicans...

That's pretty funny.

Absolutely no sense in repeating yourself if you are going to repeat the same misinformation.

I'm sorry, but opinion articles and innuendo do not constitute proof.

What I find funny is conservatives supporting a politician, voting for him a huge blocks and then, when he fucks up the country royally saying "Oh..but he wasn't a conservative".

How about this one....The Mets really stink this season. But do you REALLY think they're a New York baseball team?

Funny indeed.

A lot of people are starting to wake up and realize that we've put a radical in the White House. Not everyone, but that's to be expected. There will always be a few who remain faithful even in the face of overwhelming evidence, and those people will deny the reality of the situation 'til the bitter end.

It would be nice to have a conservative to vote for, for a change. For years the choice has been between the lesser of two evils...

Spinner,
Engaging in debate with you is often entertaining; however, I have to call BULLSHIT on the rationalized approach to justifying racism and bigotry.

'Politically', or any modifier to the word 'correct' is just a replacement for what should be the letters 'IN'.

According to this article, "It took three requests from the Obama administration to get him to agree, his colleague Alli Chagi-Starr told me this week."

The rallying cry used to be "So little time...". Appropriate now if followed with; "...and so much damage control."

No collective formed opinion by a sampling as large as the US is created instantly. Always, the general public has a huge block of people who just don't believe what they see, at least for the first time. Obama's election over Clinton in the primaries points that even within the ranks of the Democratic party, people don't jump to knee jerk conclusions. The opinion trend in the poll I linked comes from a progression of observations concerning this President.

It is correct to point out that as time has passed and the actions of Obama replace the rhetoric of Obama he's been exposed. Label him whatever you want, call him "agenda based" to remove any racial connotation. Obviously people no longer trust his agenda or want it to continue as trending.

I never fell into the acceptance of lower standards to justify actions. Why an "activist" should be allowed more leeway because the label has a the word 'black' as a modifier is simply a matter of agenda acceptance not the activist. The hope is that there is more applause generated on the 'pro' side than the 'boos' and 'cat-calls' generated by the 'con'. Meanwhile, because of all the applause and cat calls, no message is ever heard.

That seems to be the goal. The status quo insures one thing, the continuing bigotry for generations to come. For instance, 'Affirmative Action' insures that there will always be a suspicion of doubt that any black or female executive or bureaucratic administrator got there only because of their race and gender.

But racism pays, both in the trenches and in special interests advocating for both sides. The bureaucracy of racism and bigotry continues to drain resources. Because right now instead of spending time and thought process on the economy, jobs, wars, health-care; the Administration, at minimum some part of it, is doing 'Van Jones damage control', following the "Hey Boys & girls - what are you going to do for the President?" damage control, following the "removal of language that wasn't in the health-care bill in the first place!", damage control, following the "I just signed the closing of GITMO but don't have anyone who will accept the prisoners", damage control.

Notice a trend?

As funny as the guy who said this?

She stands for much the same that Reagan stood for, and he won rather handily once people got to know him. It's bizarre that people have forgotten how popular Conservatism is.

Well here's a little reminder for you, courtesy of USA Today:

quote:

McCain-Palin becoming Palin-McCain?

COLORADO SPRINGS — The banners, buttons and signs say McCain-Palin, but the crowds say something else.

"Sa-rah! Pa-lin!" came the chant at a Colorado Springs rally on Saturday moments before Republican nominee John McCain took the stage with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, a woman who was virtually unknown to the nation just a week earlier. The day before, thousands screamed "Sa-rah! Sa-rah! Sa-rah!" at an amphitheater outside Detroit.

<snip>

"Real change with a real woman," read one sign at a Wisconsin rally. "Hurricane Sarah leaves liberals spinning," cried another.
McCain has sought to portray Palin as a bulldog who will help him "shake things up" on Capitol Hill.

Washington, he said Saturday, is "going to get to know her, but I can't guarantee you they'll love her."

"We do!" came a cry from the crowd. At a rally in Albuquerque later, McCain acknowledged the juice she has injected into his campaign.

"The response to her has been overwhelming, it's been incredible," he said.

Nice PDF, Merc.

Obama was not my choice.

But I will give him one thing: he is a consummate politician, and he pays attention to reports like this.

I predict that we'll see more spin, yes, but eventually there will be a course correction. Maybe not enough to be enough; or maybe just not enough to make people happy. But there will be some acknowledgement of the will of the people.

Compromise sucks. Did I mention I'm king now, by the way? There will be a memo.

Palin is 100% the reason I did not vote for Mccain. After she climbed on board and I got to hear her, I went third party.

I unlike most don't think of her as an idiot, I just don't like her brand of republicanism. I'm a gun toting pro choice pro gay marriage Jeffersonian democrat, which is not the same thing as an Obama democrat at all.

Or do you really want me to search through the archives and find more of your quotes backing Bush and McCain?

You know, those two evil liberals.
