Cash for kitchen clunkers?

SpinnerofTales -> RE: Cash for Kitchen Clunkers (9/6/2009 6:57:20 AM)

It's an idea that started in Japan and seemed to work. They're thinking of giving it a shot here. Since cash for clunkers seemed to work stimulus wise, it might not be the worst idea in the world.

Sure, why not. The government is flush with cash! Any shit hole they can find to stuff it down is fine.

Sure let's give the American public an incentive to trade in working appliances (to be destroyed) that are paid for and actually owned for new ones financed largely by debt. It's not like the US public and government have to much debt, and destroying things that work and have value is so obviously good for the country. (sarcasm).

Echoing many of my sentiments.

The convention business in Las Vegas has been slow for nearly 18 months. I think the Federal Govt. give us all $500 to spend in a Vegas casino to prop up the Nevada tourist industry.
