I have found a lot of very real and sincere people here of both sexes. I was trying to understand IRC channels and "wikis" How would I locate one about BDSM ? A group or discssion? - any help appreciated. I'm really curious. - Greg (Gage46Bstn)

Most IRC networks have a #bdsm channel.
But there are many others such as #ds etc.

Your IRC client may have a way to list channels, but suggest joining #bdsm starting to socialize and you'll get invited to other channels.

I'll be honest, I used to IRC a lot 10 years ago, I went back recently but was very disappointed, probably better off sticking to chatrooms associated with websites such as this one.

Aren't the chatrooms associated with this website on IRC as well? I seem to remember a room op telling me that once.

As far as wikis go, here is a bdsm wiki (article on tpe chosen entirely at random, of course!) but the information in it closely mirrors that on the maiin wikpedia (although that information is found under different topic names). I only looked at one article from this place so I don't know how accurate they are on other things bdsm:

Both collarme and bondage.com have chatrooms which can be accessed through IRC. While a lot of the rooms are superficial, there are others that have substantive discussioins. I suggest that you explore and find some that fit your needs.

Bondage.com on MIRC has some good chat channels.

Go to http://www.mirc.com and download MIRC software. Type /server irc.bondage.com 6667 in the status window.
