I have to laugh at all the pampering that goes on only because I was taught that the sub/slave was there for the Dom's needs and once those have been met then the sub/slave has done their job. Sure, cuddling & the occasional blanket is great & much appreciated, but I'm just as content without as long as I know he's happy & I've done my job well.

I am not sure about anyone one else, but, usually, after any sort of scene, I get extremely depressed, to a suicidal point. I got left alone after a scene, for about ten minutes and cut myself really bad. Strange thing is, I don't remember doing it. Almost like, I feel the depression, I know whats going on, but I am not in control of myself. I do things that I could never normally do when I have control. I never hurt anyone else. Just myself.

That may work for you Potty though with the relationship which I am creating, I need and will ensure the human factor remains as important as the D/s aspect. When I am bottoming or submitting to another in a play session, aftercare is good though not an absolute requirement. It is the next day which I will crash and I have my own methods to dealing with it until I feel back to normal. With the new boy I am acquiring, the aftercare I will give him is an investment in his well being and giving him a good sense of feeling safe and secure with me, which will extend into the everyday dynamic we have together.

I like it if a Dom is in the mood to cuddle up with me afterwards, or wash me off in the shower if he's got me particularly filthy, but I wouldn't say it's necessary aftercare. If he just wants to go to sleep, I've never been that out of it that I couldn't stumble off and get my own water, food and antiseptic cream. I never got cookies and lollipops, I feel hard done by now! My ex was more of a crisps kind of man, no sweet stuff in the house.

While I completely agree with the bolded part, why insult others by enjoying something differently than you were taught?

I have to agree that knowing I have done well and he is pleased would be the biggest comfort. I do find that being held and having my hair stroked helps soothe and relax me. When my sir has tucked me up at laid down beside me till I sleep I have drifted off to sleep so totally contented and woken up with an absolute calm happiness. I have not really experienced proper sub drop but he has done all the above when I have been unwell or sad. I know if I did get sub drop this would be enough for me.
