After answering in an other thread about subspace i like to post this:

Like orgasms i think subspace comes in different gradations aswell...
i find subspace a strange name for it, like something out of a scifi movie
... to me it is more like a very relaxed trance like state...
i once took my Husband there aswell so it is not limited to submissives either...

About experiencing subspace:
i wonder when people say "i get uncommunicative".... does that mean they actually can not speak anymore or does that  mean that they do not want to speak anymore?
same for getting limp... do they totally relax and go with the relaxation or are they physically not able to move anymore?

For me it is a matter of choice... and if my Husband asks me questions while i feel myself drifting off it pulls me back because i will try to answer the question instead of ignoring Him

Some people say they get really thirsty... also this does not bother me unless we have had a long physically active play and of course i get thirsty then after a while.
but i wonder for the people who do get so thirsty... does this thirst not spoil your spaciness a bit?

I also sometimes experience a very deep sort of trance while i am totally awake and functioning... maybe doing shopping or cleaning or whatever... it is most definitely sexual and feels sort of like there is a buffer of static electricity around me... i would obey any order He would give me at these times... anybody else experience anything of the sort?

If I am able to respond immediately, that pulls me back and keeps me centered on him. While in a deep space I can't talk. I think I am responding immediately and to the point whereas actually I murmur something ten minutes later that doesn't have anything to do with what he asked me.

Same with movement. He might ask me to lift my arm but instead I would just bend a wrist ten minutes or so afterwards.

i have experianced the same thing, i would also consider this my subspace, its better then any trance ive ever been in, but for me its feels like youre example with the electricity and also a very light feeling, like blurry vision, but i can see fine, if that makes sense.

I think sub space is different for every person that experiences it.
I can only describe mine as an out of the body experience that I can deliberately put myself in if the pain gets too much. That space gives me a feeling of euphoria, a tranquil calm. I don't space without pain, I don't get a dry mouth and I don't focus on him.
When I have been in Domme space though, I am acutely focused

subspace is a trance like state that effects SOME people differently. It doesn't happen to ALL and that is NOT due to a lack from the sub OR Dominant, it's just a FACT !! so if some subs or even Dom/mes DON'T get "sub or Dom/me space" it ISN'T due to a "lack" from E/either, it's just how it is !!!!!

ranja ...... I have researched this subject in depth and am passionate on it. subspace or Dom/mespace is NOT a "sci-fi" term, it has been explained "Medically" see :-

Yes, I agree about "Different graduations", but this is going to be due to the amount of "stimulation" AND to whether your sub is "sensitive" or not to subspace

About experiencing subspace:
i wonder when people say "i get uncommunicative".... does that mean they actually can not speak anymore or does that  mean that they do not want to speak anymore?

Well uncommunicative is pretty well "self explanatory" !! But I will try to let you know as "simply" as I can !!! She CAN'T make a sentence that means anything, due to the Euphoric state that subspace places her in !! ask her what 100 plus 100 equals and she will "grunt" lol !!

For me it is a matter of choice... and if my Husband asks me questions while i feel myself drifting off it pulls me back because i will try to answer the question instead of ignoring Him

Yes, I agree. To some, the asking of a question from the Dom/me may well pull the submissive back into "real life", for others, this won't happen unless previously stated from the Dom/me, and even then, sometimes will be ignored !!!

Some people say they get really thirsty... also this does not bother me unless we have had a long physically active play and of course i get thirsty then after a while.
but i wonder for the people who do get so thirsty... does this thirst not spoil your spaciness a bit?

Having not been there, I cannot comment with any true conviction

I also sometimes experience a very deep sort of trance while i am totally awake and functioning... maybe doing shopping or cleaning or whatever... it is most definitely sexual and feels sort of like there is a buffer of static electricity around me... i would obey any order He would give me at these times... anybody else experience anything of the sort?

Sorry, your last "statement" seems to Me to be a "comment bringer" so I'll refrain from saying anything !!

The only time I have experienced the beginning of sub space it felt very much like the deep trance and usual out of body experience I have when meditating deeply. I lose a lot of sensation in my body and feel very light.

Thank you all for your answers

SlaveToKnight yes, to me it feels indeed like some sort of deep meditation and lightness and a loss of bodily sensations... and indeed i can put myself there too...

as Allthatjaz points out, deliberately put yourself in this place... but at the same time it is because you are stimulated in a certain way... and the door happens to be open to go there, so to speak

sexisubi...   blurry vision, but also extreme clarity of details sometime... like i can see every single leaf on a tree... and everything looks extremely beautiful and sort of slowmotion... and i feel great joy, sometimes it makes me cry with happiness... and also i would feel unsafe to drive or handle any other heavy equipment, it does indeed seem like i am on somekinda drugs.

Thank you UKEvolutionary for all the info in your thread, i read it all and it was informative... still i am a bit sceptical about the medical proof... though i agree that endorphin release to cope with pain feels druggy, and so does hyperventilating... if one blows up several balloons quickly the world goes spacy too... also sometimes a state like this can be achieved by total relaxation through a very exellent massage, so it is an anybodies space really, i do not think it is anything specifically reserved for subs...  and i do not understand what you mean with "comment bringer"

Thank you DesFip... it sounds as you drift off quite far... how long do you stay in this sort of state? I have not been drifting for longer than say 30 minutes or so... though time does not mean a thing in this state of course, but i can not really understand that some people stay in it for days... also i probably can ignore a request to lift my arm or find an answer to a simple equasion as it is so unimportant, but if He would press me to answer the question or urge me to lift my arm then i can be reached and will return my focus on who or whatever asks for my attention, i might feel slightly confused but i will start focussing when required, it might take me a minute to come around, but then i am aware again...

One time i suffered a concussion and i had to figure out who i was... that took me about half an hour but eventually i got there, that experience was seriously weird... after a long time being absolutely baffled i even asked a nurse where they picked me up from and if nobody there knew who i was... and i can not imagine coming out of  'subspace' would be ever so confusing as that was

again, thank you all

I sometimes literally cannot say "red," or "no" or my own name. Other times, I can talk, but very slowly, and the words tend to come out a bit blurry. I haven't been unable to move, but subspace does impair my coordination and fine motor control.

When i have been deeply in space (i call it deep space 9) i am unable to voice any specific words, i might manage to grunt or slowly nod or shake my head in response. i have been unable to move having simply wound up on the ground. He could tell me to shake a leg and it just won't happen even though He can see i am trying to respond, the best He might get will be a very limp foot movement. i am totally reliant on Master at that time to care for me and gradually bring me out. He's found the best thing is to cover me with my blanket and lie down with me so i feel Him close. As i start to emerge He will spot the little changes in breathing, eyes opening etc and gently talk to me, not requiring answers. Usually the first thing He will get me to do is to sit up a little to take some water on board and eat a bit of chocolate if He is sure i can handle chewing and swallowing. Then when He thinks i am sufficiently with it, He helps me stand and walk to somewhere more comfy. It can take a while to be back to functional, and He's extra observant. For example, if i then need to cook dinner even a couple of hours later, He hovers around and makes sure i am safe with knives and hot things! No way He'd let me drive.

When i am on the way into subspace, being required to answer questions can prevent me from going in deeply because i value answering Him. So i know if He wants me to go there or not, if He does, He shuts up and lets me go. However, i did amaze Him one time by maintaining a perfect spank count (up to 250!) whilst still apparently spacing, though it wasn't typically floaty space for me, more a state of absolute focus on the numbers. It was like i was seeing them about a foot tall flashing up in front of my eyes so it was easy to make the count! Never made it back to that particular space though, it was fascinating!

i've never got thirsty whilst in space, but afterwards yes, and also get the munchies bad afterwards. As a Domme, with all the boys I've happily taken there and back, never had one get thirsty whilst in space, and many I've had to insist they drink and eat something afterwards.

Well, i did look around the net somewhat and i can not find any medical proof regarding 'subspace' at all, but obviously that does not mean it doesn't exist (the proof that is)

What some people describe has not been my experience... except for that time i lost consciousness and had a concussion, which was indeed a medical state instead of a sexy one but i was definitely lost inside my brain then... so i think i have to conclude that sexually i have not really been there as deeply... i just get a bit fuzzy, floaty and emotional...

The term subspace sits better with me since i found a mathematical description of it:
subspace - a space that is contained within another space...
this makes perfect sense to me although the space within seems bigger than the space it is in if that makes any sense
