I'd tell him what you told us -- I think it would do wonders for your communication (and increase the chance of getting similar letters again) if you gave him positive feedback.

Yes Mons,

I have. I am ashamed to admit that I doubt I ever told him. It was the letter of introduction from the person I am speaking with now. He checks the boards daily for my thoughts, so he will know indirectly- of the effect he had on me. I will let you know what his response is to the knowledge.

Yes, I had my sub write a letter to me telling me what I meant to him, what, if anything I had done to change or enhance his life and finally what his hopes were for the future. He wrote the most beautiful and sweetest letter I've ever received. He basically wrote that I had opened his eyes to what was really inside of himself. That he can now be himself and that made him feel freer, stronger and happier then he'd ever felt. He told me that the love he felt for me was beyond anything he had ever imagined, that it went past the heart and into his very soul. Our future he wrote he hopes we spend together forever.
It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside to know that I have touched him in this way and that he has touched me the same way.

From one in particular (he will know who he is), I have gotten the most breathtaking letters, and to them I respond positively with how they made Me feel. I don't think that being a Dominant Female means I cannot get that warm and fuzzy feeling inside every now and then.

In fact, I think every activity, form of humiliation, and the power exchange that goes with it, in a long-term relationship, will all be made special because the warm and fuzzy stuff exists as well.

When the boy read my reaction to his thoughts here - blushing was the major reaction. Which only serves to remind me that we do not share the good news, thoughts, and feelings as often as we should.

On the rare occasions I do write at a personal level to some one,I have the habbit of adding a quote from Omar Khayyam and use the half unical calligraphy favoured by many scribes in the 8thC Ireland with some document illumination (a-la Book of Kells). I feel that the obvious effors used in the whole presentation as well as the content should be worthy of the person to whom I write......

Just the thoughts of an Ol' Grizzly

It thrill me to no end to know there ARE Romantics left in the world ;)

Both the letter writers, AND the people who appreciate them :)

Ladies, please. DO tell the person how it made you feel ... directly.

I am pretty sure that it would make their toes curl as well.

I am sad to say that it seems I have never inspired such tender feelings. The best I get are some flowers that I have to look pointedly at.

I'm still working on totalling comprehending a new potential that actually sent me a real-live, hand-written letter, several pages long. There wasn't a lot of really heavy 'stuff' discussed in it, but the beauty of a hand-written letter has it's own value.

Simply having the pages to read over and over again certainly provokes an interesting sensation. A sensation that cannot be matched by an online email.

It was not requested, nor did the writer even poke around to see how I felt about it ahead of time. It was written, it was sent. Lovely. Very lovely, and touching, even if it wasn't "romance" in the way the term is usually used. Romance isn't always about love or sex, but it IS about intimacy. Intimacy from very simple words and gestures. This one scored some real points.
