I must say this is something that is about time and I’m sure virtually all women here will agree with it.

In Norway, a woman's place is in the boardroom
Firms must introduce female directors or face closure under a new law

I hope this idea catches on around the world and perhaps the world will become a better place. Because I am not impressed so far with the job being done by men, the world is seriously fucked up.

This is a good example of why Norway has always been a backwater non-player on the world stage and will stay that way.

Just as most women are not as strong as men neither are they as aggressive…a trait that is needed in the corporate world and in politics. Speaking in general not particular.

I don’t really believe this but thought I would be a provocateur.

There is also a study right here in the good ol USA that shows that when a board is dominated by women, the corporation is less profitable. I do not have a link but read it in several different articles. I think the Huffington Post was one of them.

Seems quite like affirmative action.  If someone can not compete on their own merits, they ought not get the position.  If they can compete, their 'equipment' ought not be a deciding factor.

I'm not exactly disagreeing, but there are very few boards that are dominated by women.  Offhand, I can think of Xerox and HP before Fiorina got forced out.  Fiorina managed to damn near kill off HP, so that having one terrible example really hurt the statistics.

I would like to see that study please. Sounds fishy especially in light of the lack of boards actually ran by women.

holy shit!!! Who gives a fuck. I am with Davan on this one. If you qualify for the job an can do it i don't give a fuck if you are an innie or an outie. Any other position is discriminatory by definition and thus sucks.

I thought the whole idea was to dismantle companies' mean for generating profit?

Dont yell at me!

I could care less if a woman gets the job, provided the job is gained upon merit and ability.

I asked for the study because i dont believe one exists. Women are just as capable as men, and, depending on the industry, may be slightly more so.

I am sure there was a study, and I can counterpoint with Carly Fiorino, at least.

but ya, who gives a fuck?
