My sub is asking to have all of her hair removed. What pitfalls will she encounter and what can she expect from others

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Hair removal (2/27/2006 12:00:59 PM)

She'll get weird looks without eyebrows.

If she wears a wig it won't be that bad, if she goes out bald, she'll get looks and it might be a problem professionally. Not to mention needing a hat in cooler weather.

You don't mention if this is a one time thing or if she wants a process to eliminate hair permanently?

Generally if you just want to get rid of all your hair, it's a matter of getting scissors and razors and going at it. Upkeep can be good to maintain skin tone and prevent ingrowns and infected poors (there's a gazillion threads on shaving).

If you want it to be permanent, you should discuss it with a laser surgeon.

Electrolysis and Laser hair removal are considered permanent (tho I know some who had to go back for periodic touch up treatments).

Waxing lasts longer than shaving and is less irritating (in my opinion).

The big problem with anything you can't do yourself is finding someone to do it. We've all heard of the Brazilian Wax but in reality, unless you live in a big city, it can be darn hard to find a salon who will do it. Nevermind, the laser....I understand it's even more difficult to find an office willing to do the more "private" areas.

Ahh...but to never have to shave again...that would be so grand!

Depends on where you are. I have found places that do brazilians now all over the place. (Here's one in Evansville, IN, http://www.absolutebeautyinc.com/)

As far as the laser, that is harder to find- a good spa or treatment center that has good qualified people for you, but still not impossible. (Here's one in Indianapolis, IN http://www.complexionsspa.com/beauty.htm)

Thanks LA! You truly are the queen of finding hard-to-find info!
Thanks!!

michaelGA -> RE: Hair removal (2/27/2006 12:32:31 PM)

i've concidered this several times, yet, as a male, it would definately draw alot of attention, not the eyebrows though, just everywhere else. am i alone on this issue (speaking from a male perspective)

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Hair removal (2/27/2006 12:33:44 PM)

LOL no prob, if you gave me the city you live in I could have done more :)

typesgirl -> RE: Hair removal (2/27/2006 12:37:05 PM)

Michael: A friend of mine who is a professional body builder had all but his eyebrows and the hair on his heaed removed with laser and he's soooo happy. He never has to shave his face, never has a shadow and doesn't have to buy razors any more. It was expensive but he justified it with all the time he spent being waxed and all the money he saved on shaving supplies.

Whoopie Goldberg has no eyebrows...it's strange.

Oh and LA...you want a challenge? I live in po-dunk Muncie IN. It's a college town without a freakin' bookstore! I'll bow to ya if you can find a salon here sophisticated enough to do Brazilian waxes. :)

Cristalin -> RE: Hair removal (3/21/2006 3:08:54 PM)

this is my ultimate dream...to remove my hair, especialy in my private area...i think i`d prefer wax but i can`t do it alone and i also can`t find a helpfull neighbour...smiles...anyway, wich is the best method to do it myself?

littleone35 -> RE: Hair removal (3/21/2006 3:35:19 PM)

All her hair?  Anything that bought this on?  I can understand not having to shave again that would be great.  Are you talking about the hair on her head also?  Well if it makes her happy and you happy i say go for it.  it is her body after all.

Laser, laser, laser~! I've been having it done for 2 yrs now~! And it really isn't hard to find......the "private" area's are all the rage~! Even men were there at the spa I go to having their ass's and backs done. Oh, it hurts like hell.....but the end result is great. And silk panties have never felt sooooooo wonderful:):)

Yes and I am so jealous I could jump up and down.  I am a redhead, because of our skin tone and pigment we are not allowed to laser.  It is attracted to our freckles and actually causes burns rather than hair loss. Electrolysis hurts!!!  I will gather bravery and find the time in my schedule and return to good old fashioned electoysis.  *sigh*  what I really need is a Master who likes to shave his slave....giggle.

perverseangelic -> RE: Hair removal (3/22/2006 10:28:30 AM)

Being without, or with very short head hair generates a lot of comments and a lot of insults. I'd advise -strongly- against using permanant removal on the head. Clipping short, then buzzing works really well.

As a female, she -will- get inapropriate comments. Having no hair seems to make one open to intense amounts of personal criticism. Her sexual orientation willl be questioned, as will yours for being with her.

I speak from experience.

FelinePersuasion -> RE: Hair removal (3/22/2006 10:39:02 AM)

Well if you mean head hair it'd open her up to a lot of skorn, and if you want her to work shaved heads wouldn't be apropriate in the work place

Not true, really. I worked with a buzzed head for six or seven months. It's all in what -else- you wear

Ahhh, well you must not be asking a place with the latest equipment. Red heads can use the laser now~! I know because I have red hair too, with blonde and brown. No one really has one total color of hair on their head or body unless it's from a bottle.
The new Candela......and here is their website for info.http://www.candelalaser.com/about/index.cfm?task=whatsNew
removes hair of all colors and all skin types. I do medical esthetics so I know.
Just make the calls to find out who carries this in your area......it really is a treat, say even with spring and summer coming, no shaving , no worries:)
