For some reason this topic (Pro-Domming) always reminds me of a cartoon I saw once:
A little girl and little boy are arguing-
He says: " I have a nickel!"
She replies: "I have a dime."
He says: "Well I have a puppy!"
She says: "I have a pony."
He thinks a moment, then ups the ante. Pulls down his pants and says: "Well I have one of these!"
She pulls up her skirt and says, "I have one of these, and with one of these I can get as many of those as I want!"

That's a good one, AnimusRex! I wonder though, how did it ever get to be called "pro"? Generally speaking, a profession is something which requires an advanced level of education and accreditation by some recognized professional organization. Perhaps it's an analogy from professional sports, as opposed to amateur sports.

Very cool, Bounty. Thanks for sharing . . . ..

Given how significant money is in our culture, how much 'emotional magic' is attached to it (above & beyond its utility in facilitating transactions), financial domination & collection of tribute strike me as being fairly significant displays of power dynamics . . . . .

Which is also part of why this subject can be so 'hot', I suspect . . . . . .

I have cash slaves and there is several sites, one is  call Cash Masters but you get what you pay for..There are many out there that wish to serve and by tribute is the only way they can..Bounty

Thanks KIA, there are so many in situations where they can't
show their submission and are dieing to..IE.. married men, thoose whom have important jobs and can't be open and out and there is always an occasion woman that wishes to take this route as well..Its not taking the money its also letting them know that they are appreciated..since the invent of pay pay money masters and mistress has come out of the wood work,I am been doing this for an long while and no complaints yet smile..

Nevada prostitution and the rest of the country?

ElaineSubmits -> RE: cash Masters??? (9/14/2009 4:04:09 PM)

Or a good name for a check cashing store. Isn't "cash master" kinda redundant though? I thought anybody with cash was automatically a master.

DemonKia -> RE: cash Masters??? (9/14/2009 4:13:45 PM)

Porn manufacturing is mostly composed of legit, tax-paying businesses with business licenses & etc . . . . . .

Other legal adult industries: Sex & BDSM toy manufacturing. Very limited legal prostitution: geographically (legal in parts of the US, the Netherlands, Germany, Australia, & others, IIRC) & the quasi-legal status of professional BDSM providers . . . . Strip clubs & live sex displays in booths or on stages . . .. 'Public' dungeons in a handful of cities . . . . ..

Illegal: most prostitution most places, & de facto a certain amount of actual on-the-ground professional BDSM provision . . . . .

& that's my limited, knee-jerk recall; more may come tumbling forth . . . .

Generally, I look as this from the perspective that if 50% or more of the income comes from tributes, the "Master" is legally a Pro Dom here in Queensland and comes under the Sex Workers Act as far as Health and safety goes. Prostitution/Escorts are legal here as they are in most if not all states in Australia. The demarcation between "hobby" income and "real" income of 50% is made by the ATO (Australian Taxation Office).

I've always felt that women had a lot more common sense than men. The absence of male "cash masters", for that matter, the general absence of male commercial "doms" for women, is just one more confirmation.

Has nothing to do with smarts... boils down to Economics:  Supply & Demand.  Huge supply of Doms willing to Top for FREE, so no need for the subs/slaves to pay for it.

I can not agree with this statement. The analogies I could use require advanced education but do require a good degree of learning ability:
  1. Professional Fishermen. Required is a good experienced fisherman with a boat and the required licences to take a greenhorn through the learning cycle and even sufficient education to qualify for a skipper's licence if the boat is large enough (Always depending on the state or country's licensing)
  2. Security Guard through the top of the heap: Body Guard. Sufficient learning ability to pass the course, to enable a licence to be issued. (Here separate licences for crowd Control and Security as well as a separate license for carrying a weapon ) Some people I've trained end up needing advanced education skills when we deal with computers and the physics of explosives, but practical experience is the primary requirement for people to work in specialist areas).

ElaineSubmits -> RE: cash Masters??? (9/15/2009 12:15:56 AM)

It's not clear to me just what you're disagreeing with. If your point is that "profession" encompasses things beyond the traditional learned professions, I don't think anyone is going to argue with that. They do all have basic elements in common, advanced education and accreditation or licensing. A "professional" dominant is anyone who calls herself that and is able to get people to give her money on that basis.
The term always amuses me...I picture adverts along the lines of: "Mistress Sadie LeLashe, FRCD (Fellow of the Royal College of Dominatrixes), fee 100 guineas a session".

Bounty -- I looked for that site and couldn't find it.

Care to share a link?

It is quite clear to what I was disagreeing with. the entire post else I would have highlighted the section I disagreed with. In your original post which I quoted,  you made no reference to accreditation or licensing. However again you place Advanced Education as part of the criteria and unless we are seeing Advanced Education as something different it does not meet the two examples I gave. Advanced Education where I come from may include a Diploma from TAFE (Tertiary And Further Education) which may be needed for some trades, and a University Education. Standard education finishes generally (except for apprenticeships) at the final year of High School (Year 12 which is entry level for University provided your pass marks are high enough). I simply found your post somewhat misleading from an Aussie's point of view. There is also a good deal of credit given for those with years of field experience in the fields of their prospective study too. Can't beat hands on experience.

Sweet. Thanks, IronBear.

I knew you Aussies were a lot more civilized & reasonable about prostitution . . . . .

Actually, the Nordic countries have the most civilized and reasonable laws on prostitution. (As they do in many areas.) In Sweden, Norway, and Iceland, it's not illegal to sell sexual services, but it is illegal to buy them. In other words, it's the "john", not the prostitute, who gets arrested. Trafficking, procuring and letting of premises for prostitution are also outlawed.

DemonKia -> RE: cash Masters??? (9/15/2009 6:19:00 PM)

I meant as compares with here in the USA . . . .

& I disagree with you. In my opinion, prostitution should be legalized, regulated, & taxed. Making the selling of sexual acts between consenting adults illegal (in whatever manner) creates a whole host of problems, in addition to complicating the problems inherent to prostitution . . . .
