Yep, we hot-bi-chicks -- most everybody wants to be us, or fuck us . . . . .

[;)]

Seriously, tho'. It is indeed much more about the relatively stricter strictures around masculinity than those current for femininity . . . . I feel sorry for guys on that account. I cross dress all the time & no one notices . . . . & I can make out with chicks to get favorable attention to a degree that is not so for guys, by far . . . . . It's an inegalitarian situation . .. . .

*shrugs*

That which does not kill us makes us stronger, no? & I do think there is a progressive trend around this, with younger generations tending to have much more fluidity around these issues than their parents' & grandparents' generations, both in being & in accepting . . . .

*makes cat clawing/pawing motion with hand*

Rawr!!!

Wait...

That totally is not gonna score me points on the machismo scale, is it?

No Master....not really

KIA! you should see him do that in real life!! It's so cute!

DemonKia -> RE: Bisexuality/Gay = Submissive? (9/16/2009 12:16:51 AM)

Yeah, yeah, yeah, he's adorable. Duly noted. Would-look-good-in-a-potato-sack adorable. Uh huh. I think most pulse-bearing chicks 'round these parts, & quite a few similarly greater-than-room-temp guys, get that . . . . .

(Rub our noses in it, whydontcha . . .. . )

[8D]

& Nihilus, machismo, & whatever desirability it might have, is purely in the perception of the beholder .... . I suspect that the taste for knuckle-draggers is as minority-held, ultimately, as any other taste . ... .

In another thread there is a prevailing theme that Bi-sexuality (especially if the person is male and on the receiving end) equates to a submissive personality, or that bi-sexuality is some how "not Dominant"......I'm throwing in the gay aspect also because it seems to follow the same "logic".

what say you?

Oh for fuck sake here we go again....
How many gays does it take to change a lghtbulb?
Answers on a postcard please.

DesFIP -> RE: Bisexuality/Gay = Submissive? (9/16/2009 4:12:10 AM)

Considering there are gay dominants on this board, I would think that would throw out the gay = submissive real fast.
But sexual orientation has nothing to do with d/s orientation has nothing to do with giving/receiving pain. Plenty of dominants who enjoy endorphin play but sure don't take orders from anyone.

Unfortunately there are lots of people out there who simply cannot open up their closed minds.

To give a short answer. No being bi or gay do not mean that you are not Dominant. To like being on the receiving end do not mean that you are not Dominant. I mean do it make a female Dominant less Dom if she allow her sub to make love to her? There are many bi Doms and gay Doms both male and female who like to revive, and there is allot of straight Dom's who like to be on the receiving end from their partners to. Whatever or not you like others to do things with you body do not make you Dom or sub. Whatever or not you like to take charge and be the boss, whatever or not you have a alpha personality or not make you Dom or sub.

I wish you well

Right, because there is no such thing as a gay male dominant, a leatherman or a Daddy.  They're totally mythical creatures.  Just ask any gay male bottom.  [8|]

Pretty much my thoughts exactly

I think where a lot of this thinking comes from is this:

Many people, a majority that are male, but certainly a lot of females, see women as weaker, and more submissive by nature, than men. Also, they see gay men as being a sort of "woman", you know, the preening, swishy type. So, for these folks, it isn't that big a jump in "thinking" to equate gay males as submissives.

I agree. This comes from antiquated "true manly men are dom and true girly girls are sub" thinking. Which means fem doms don't really exist, they just haven't been penetrated by a true manly man. And gays are not true manly men, so they can't be dom.

I find it sad that some still harbor these viewpoints.

And those same people will look at a woman, notice how she is dressed and assume she is whore

Andalusite -> RE: Bisexuality/Gay = Submissive? (9/16/2009 8:14:37 PM)

Perhaps a lot of people are making that connection due to all of the "forced" bisexuality threads, with all of the guys insisting that they're just submissive, not bi? So, they assume anybody who does those things must automatically be submissive? I know several gay and bisexual dominant men and women. *shrugs*

Chimortis -> RE: Bisexuality/Gay = Submissive? (9/17/2009 12:14:44 AM)

Personally, I find it absurd that anyone would think there is some necessary or inherent connection between sexuality and dominance. furthermore, I'd go on to suggest that any such connection between gender identity and dominance is equally absurd.

I'm a very dominant person by nature. I self-identify as male, but I'm not opposed to screwing with gender just for fun. I also identify as pansexual, and don't judge potential partners based upon their genitalia or gender identity alone. At the end of the day, I'm a statistical rarity, but only because A> pansexual men are a statistical rarity to begin with, and, B> men who are willing to fuck with gender are a statistical rarity.

I think that we're probably more of a statistical rarity than closed-minded bigots, sadly!

DemonKia -> RE: Bisexuality/Gay = Submissive? (9/17/2009 12:30:13 AM)

Ah, but see, my money's on the pansexual genderfuckers being a growth demographic, over the long term; the bigots are a dying breed . . . . .

Well, I'm a dominant male, and I'm vaguely bisexual (I'm really more genderqueer, but functionally I may as well call myself bi). I'm very dominant to both males and females I'm involved in, but in completely different ways.

For males, I want something almost like military/"old guard" relationships. I tend to be attracted to boys that... well, that give off the same sort of persona that you expect from a well-trained doberman or german shepard. I like "guard dog" boys. Which can lead to some weird situations, as the boys I tend to try to acquire tend to be perceived as far more dominant (and far more worthy of being called Dominant) than myself. But I want boys that compliment me - boys that excel in the social and physical arenas that I don't, but that need someone like me to provide direction and intellectual/spiritual guidance. People who don't want to think too deeply about what they're doing or why, but who need to be pointed in a direction and told "sic!".

For females, I generally want a harem of sex slaves. I want girls that are pretty and small, and obviously demure, ornamental, and submissive.

If possible, I tend to try to build a hierarchy - most of the girls that I'm attracted to are themselves attracted to the "Beef McRockhard" type, so I've found it's easier to just find a few of those types of boys that are into me, and give them the pretty girls - they look better with them anyways, and that way I get to run the whole show like it was my own private little doll-house, where every day is a tea party and then we play dress-up!

Anymore, though, I've kinda given up on both sides - I no longer feel I have the spiritual fortitude to maintain relationships with boys or girls, so I've resigned myself to looking for other people that might be capable of pulling off my style of dominance, and who might find it fun, that I might pass on my accumulated skillset before abandoning it altogether.

I guess that's because I'm a gay D-type.  Although, by that, I guess I mean I'm a sub... or something...  *shrug*  Guess I better go let the pet know about this.  He'll be rather disappointed I think.  ;)

I think there are more than a few Bears out there who would wish to 'discus' the issue with someone who believed that a Gay Man couldn't be Dominant.
