newone11 -> Telepathic Interaction and Giving Birth Dream (9/15/2009 7:46:58 PM)

Last night I dreamed I was giving birth...I swear I could feel the kid coming out of me! Anyway, there was a random man in the room while I was preparing to deliver. We were communicating telepathically with each other. The only thing he would say was "uhh uhh" over and over again. He thought it was really funny and kept laughing as I became more and more frustrated with him. Finally, I started screaming telepathically "Shut the f*** up, get out of my head" at him. This made him really mad and he kept trying to kick me as I walked around the room in preparation for giving birth.

Any guesses as to what it means?

No, there is not sufficient information.

What was the room like? What was he like? Where did he kick you? Was he opposed to birthing, or trying to help? Was he jealous? Can it possibly apply to something in your own life, in the sense of producing something new, creating?

Hmm...I didn't think details like that would make a difference but it makes sense that they would.

It was a bedroom with a patio door leading to the outside.  I was basically pacing in/out of the room.  I don't know who he was...he looked 'normal' but no one that I (in an awake state) recognized.  He wasn't helping or hindering the birthing process...just present for no obvious reason.  He wasn't the doctor, nurse, or father.  He really seemed to enjoy how much he was annoying me with the noise and laughed when I first started getting upset at him.  He only started getting mad after I started truly screaming at him in my head.  After a while he did leave.  I don't remember if I was actually successful in giving birth.

My guess is that he was your superego, the sensible, ethical one. He apparently has no power over you. He irks you and you want to get rid off him. The birthing process may signify 'becoming' - but I may be wrong. Becoming more submissive?

Hmm an interesting take on it.  That's definately something to consider.

My sister is going to give birth in a few weeks.  I heard that the direction a baby is born is the direction that is most comfortable when sleeping.

SOOOOOOOOOOO,  is there a better direction, and if so- how does one arrange it?

I think it is best to google birthing environments.

Edited to add: Lying in a hospital bed on your back seems to be the worst birthing position. Physicians make women do that because it is easier for the physician, I suspect.

Perhaps this represents you wanting to be heard but people around you not taking you seriously. The failure to understand him probably means he is talking about something in a way you don't understand i.e. from an irrelevant viewpoint unrelated to your questions. I'd consider what you had been reading/watching/listening to/ or having conversations about during the previous day to be the most likely reason for the setting of the dream.

Well. . . the BEST sleeping postition is on your left side.

As far as giving birth. . . she really needs to talk with her birthing coach, duella, midwife, obgyn, or anyone else involved.  It will also be effected by the hospital facilities.

I had a c-section. . . so on my back was really the only  choice.

My nephews wife had a caesarean section after it was eventually determined that the pelvic bone blocked the natural exit. I wonder whether the aberrant bone was due to her being a horse rider?

Edited to add: One more post and I will have made four thousand posts. Perhaps I ought to publish them as "Rule's Collected Works"? Is there a button that I can click that collects all my posts in a word document?

As her older brother- -the time has come for me to "shut up".   For some reason this her 2nd child has been a hard pregnancy.

She is pretty stubborn... tho did a wonderful job with her 1st kid- we talked alot about diet, environment and such.  I almost wish she was my mom!  ;-)

Anyhow I can tell by her voice that she is wanting to get on with things.....  :-)

No two pregnancies are the same.  There could be all sorts of reasons that this second one is harder (not even going into trying to go through pregnancy while chasing after a child).

I am not sure if you realize it, but pregnant women get "advise" from EVERYONE.  It is insane.  And then you add into that the "When babies ATTACK" horror stories that people feel obliged to tell you!

Yeah. . . I can see why your sister just wants people to "shut up."

As far as the actual giving birth goes. . . that is just something that she will need to talk over with whoever is attending and put it into her birth-plan.

As for the "wanting  to get on with things" I am guessing that she is pretty far along.  Have you started getting her care-package from you ready?  Do you need any suggestions?
