I've been lurking for awhile and been a little reluctant to join in because almost two years ago I suffered a terrible experience at the hands of someone online who I was crazy about and had a long relationship with. It turned out she was one of the most malicious people I have ever had the misfortune to come across or so I assume because she has never been willing to explain herself to me. The crazy thing is, I still like her. However, I spent much of the inbetween time trying to get an apology or an explanation from her but her refusal to even respond just added hurt to injury, piled humiliation on humiliation and the whole thing really got out of control. Hence my reluctance to join in. I'm active in the lifestyle in r/l but promised myself I will never have another online relationship.
