work on being a better you. which will make you a more adept submissive. once you've had some experience you'll be able to wisely determine if slavery is for you. for most people it isn't. good luck. porcelaine

you're getting some good advice so far to which I would add: 1. Remember that "submit" means "to yield". If you are going to yield, then you'd better figure out what areas mentally/physically/emotionally/sexually you wish to yield in and which areas you can yield in, even if you don't want to. From there, figure out which of those areas you will yield in for a casual partner vs. a long-term, serious partner. Then figure out what the differences are between those types of yielding. 2. There are many levels of submission...figure out the ones you are comfortable at and what types of partners best fit those areas. Once you do that, then don't try to fit a partner that fits in THIS type of D/s best into THAT type of D/s. (Same as vanilla in which you don't try and turn what you KNOW was a good weekend fling into something permanent when it just doesn't fit the long-term) 3. Remember that at a basic level, it is about his wants and needs and then about your needs and wants and learn to understand why.

This is going to sound pat and trite, doll, but ... Until you know yourself (and perhaps even then), asking others this question is not going to help anyone, least of all you. Become a good you. If you are submissive my nature, then improving yourself improves everything you have to offer to someone you wish to devote yourself to. ....rolls eyes at self I should start a freaking desk calander! "Empowering Submissive Maxims... 365 days a year! lol I can practically hear that Jack Handy guy reading my post with a picture of a waterfall in the back and soothing music.... hehehe

Surrender is by ongoing choice, made freely with self will. It takes strength, not weakness. As Plato quoted Socrates, "First know thyself." Always remember that love arises in the only place it is ever felt, your very own heart. It is neither given nor taken, but shared. Love is not a bargain of giving to get. You simply cannot trade surrender for fulfillment. Learning to open your heart will allow you to share more of yourself. Trust is more often misplaced than it is breached. Do not rely on mere hope or blind faith. Gain confidence through experience over time. Patience is a virtue. Find a partner who seeks a virtuous you.
