Jesus Crippled Christ on a Crutch...It's called marketing people, exaggeration and hyperbole are the name of the game.

Dan Rather, maybe?

FatDomDaddy -> RE: FNC lies again (9/19/2009 1:57:55 AM)

Well...

The pictures prove one thing...

There were a right set more than 75,000 people there.

Sanity -> RE: FNC lies again? (9/19/2009 10:46:25 AM)

That Rich Sanchez guy, whoever he is, is sure emotional, isn't he.

In response to all the crying Fox News responded, ""Generally speaking, it's fair to say that from the tea party movement ... to ACORN ... to the march on 9/12, the networks either ignored the story, marginalized it or misrepresented the significance of it altogether," said Michael Tammero, vice president of marketing for Fox News.

Fox is now the authority on what is a major story, what is news worthy and what should be front page vs page 20?

lronitulstahp -> RE: FNC lies again (9/19/2009 11:05:24 AM)

i think it's pretty hard to find fair and unbiased news in general, Fox News is more obvious than others, but in a way, i find their blatant and unabashed lack of balance refreshing. Others claim to be balanced and lean to the left in many issues.

Though i think the people that take Glenn Beck  for a serious journalist may be a bit frightening.[;)]

"I love Glenn Beck's sanity, and i fear for it..."
-Steven Colbert

No matter how you lean politically, that's funny....[:D]

The difference between a mistake and an intentional lie or exaggeration, which Fox specializes in.

And how can you tell that?

Did you count?

Dan Rather was forced to resign in disgrace because he was caught lying while manipulating the 2004 presidential election.

Not normally, I guess he's just fed up with listening to Fox's nonsense that certain people (who shall remain nameless) buy into.

And didn't the clips on CNN coverage just prove all of that wrong?

Sanity -> RE: FNC lies again? (9/19/2009 11:18:37 AM)

No, I agree that CNN tried to marginalize the protesters. In other words, while its true that CNN may have shown pictures or video of the protests and had some talking heads on, that doesn't mean that CNN covered the story.

Forced to resign while manipulating the 2004 election? Strangely his last day on the CBS Evening News was March 9, 2005. I was unaware that Mr. Rather had invented time travel.

He had sources he believed were true.  There is a difference between lying and making errors in verification..

Media distortions are being discussed on Fox News Watch right now, at this moment...

Sanity -> RE: FNC lies again (9/19/2009 11:32:56 AM)

The lies, the falsified document, were used to try to throw the election to Kerry in the runup to the election even if it exploded in Rather's face afterward.

He was a lying sack of shit and a disgrace to his profession.  Dan Rather's legacy is a permanent stain upon CBS News.
