Actually that's not a scene I'd take on casually- and nothing I'd do without a long term committed partner unless I knew I was the only one with a copy. (maybe I can get another negative in that sentence...)

I can see why people would find it hot, but unless it was set up as some sort of interrogation/torture scene, it wouldn't work for me.

No one in my immediate household so that's ok. My friends have standing orders to destroy all tapes and hard drives in the event of my untimely demise. LOL That's been a long-standing arrangement!

Given some of the unpleasant things that can happen to tapes, I'd be very cautious. I'd make sure you have the copies and the masters of them. I'm going to sound very cynical but a friend/partner today and turn your stuff into the cops or sell it as porn like that if things go bad.

On the other hand it can be fun to play out.

And if you feel particular helpful the Kinsey Institute loves to collect things like this for current and future archives and researcher plus its a tax credit!

As a "Scene" this sounds fun, but I would have to REALLY know and trust the person and know where the tape was going, how many copies, etc. In my mind what would make this a scene is a serious negotiation and a long time trust with this person. If this wasn't my partner or someone I was collared to, I wouldn't do it.

If this is for real, it sounds really out there. If this "Friend" is trying to do some amature psychotherapy with you, that can be rather dangerous.

Status: offline 		SEX, LIES, and Videotape was a fabulous movie. How cathartic to recount one's whole sexual history with someone that was truly interested in hearing it. I would be cautioned though, as in the movie, that the video would replace intimacy rather than enhance it.

It's a non-digital camera and the tape will be handed directly to me afterwards. I agree that confidentiality is a major issue.

I wasn't aware of that fact about the Kinsey Institute...Interesting!!

I agree that using BDSM scenes for psychotherapy can be a tricky and dangerous thing.

In this instance we're just exploring it as an excercise in exhibitionism and humiliation. I'm a very self-aware, balanced, mentally healthy individual, otherwise I wouldn't be willing to do it.

Since this is not a romantic relationship but rather a friendship, I'm not too concerned about this scene replacing intimacy. The film-maker in the film had sexual issues, and was replacing intimacy with the tapes. Not the same situation at all.

I loved that movie too. James Spader plays the best pervy characters!
