Dead Girls
I saw you in the evening
dreaming dreams of cocaine
with your eyes turned to glass
by the poison in your vein.
And though you’re only seeking
something to set you free,
you're building a house of tears
in a town called Misery.
And as I watch you going under
it brings a tear to my eye
to stand here doing nothing and
watch a young girl die.
I fall down on my knees
in horror and alarm
when you stick that fucking needle
into your fucking arm.
And all trace of understanding
melts off your pretty face
each time that he takes you
in his cold vampire's embrace.
And though he takes you soaring
across the midnight sky,
one day his wings will fail you and
that's how young girls die.
