Some days its worth wading thru the rest of the crap...I realise that its a huff post page, but the other links go straight to court/supreme court websites connected in the main story

The story in brief...
"The South Carolina Supreme Court has ordered an insurance company to pay $10 million for wrongly revoking the insurance policy of a 17-year-old college student after he tested positive for HIV. The court called the 2002 decision by the insurance company "reprehensible."

I hope the chap gets the care he needs, but to have to go thru the expense and aggravation, time and so on to get that care is way beyond reprehensible. How many people have the resources , either mentally physically and financially(to start with) to go thru nearly 7 years of fighting the Insurance companies.
I truly wish people like Mr Mitchell (before the award) every luck in getting health reform that stops BS like this. No one should have to go thru that while dealing with a disease or illness.

How about no insurance ever, and the bill is like $85 instead of $400,000 ? And they take payments !

What would you think of that ?

I have a whole lot more to say about this but I don't want to wrest control of this thread right now. What do y'all say about this ? Doctors used to be a few blocks away, and had a small office in their home. I know, I went to one. They are all gone now. Why ?
