I was able to check out an episode of the show yesterday. The men in it seemed full of drama, resentment and anger for the most part and the women came across as bitchy control freaks or emotionally unstable nuts. For one thing, it made me appreciate my husband. Jillian had more fights with her husband in the hour I watched the show than I have had in 8 years of marriage. It also appears the women, or at least the friends of the ladies on the show, are huge lushes. Is this how successful working women are portrayed?
Anyway...on a side note, I hope everyone realizes reality tv IS scripted. Almost 100%. In fact, this one looks nearly entirely scripted. The drama is mostly manufactured, so my comments are with a grain of salt - I bet Jillian is not THAT unstable. I've had the opportunity to work close to a couple of reality tv shows and have seen the size of the crew that follows these people around and how things are cut and redone if they aren't good enough, right down to producers saying, "Why don't you say it this way," etc.
