Is it safe to assume that every "online domme" that hits you up with an unsolicited IM Aim or Yahoo chat request is probably some dude in his basement running (or partnered with) a pay site?

I got hit with one. I had a high index of suspicion, but followed through right up to the part where they ask for a credit card.
I know it's dumb to have played along as long as I did, but I had to see how it would end! As it turned out, it was pretty predictable.

Welcome to the forums.

Real Dommes are usually too busy with their subs, or at least fighting off the wankers, to contact someone based on his profile.  So go ahead and make the contacts yourself.

How often in real life do women come walking up to you, and announce they have to have your phone number and get to know you? It's no different here.

No email, no conversation and give me your gmail now? Of course it's a scam.

How would they get your IM name in the first place?

Edit:  I don't see it in your profile.

I am always suspicious when someone with a profile on collarme contacts me with a basic message such as,
"I like you and think we could have a great time, here is my yahoo address, talk to me."
Yet, the collarme site shows that  havent even read my profile!
Sometimes, for my amusement, I will respond (ONLY via collarme) and ask, "What exactly in my profile interested you?"
There never is a response as it seems that these are all computer generated and sent out to thousands at one time with the same message. (the lights are 'on' but there's nobody home!
