So many here know I was hired at The Red Door pending a background check. I have no fear of that. I have never been arrested. They said it would take 2 to 3 days to get the results and then they would call me to give me my training schedule. So 3 days would have been yesterday. They are quite busy there. They have not called me back yet. Would you be worried?

Not yet. Background checks can take much longer than expected considering everyone seems to be running them for everything these days.

I wouldn't be too worried.  Even if they got it back, they might not have had a chance to look at it yet.  It's Thursday.  I think if you don't hear back from them before Monday, I'd give them a call then to touch base.

No honey I wouldn't.

I've had many background checks over the years and they've taken anywhere from 20 minutes to 6 weeks. It depends on who they are checking with - local, state, federal, international. Just relax, and don't be drinking coca tea or eating poppy seed bagels. Oh wait, that's for the drug test. Mah bad.

Chicago-----------

there maybe is alot going on there, and the fact that you left a message after 5 yesterday and it wasn't returned is actually good news, if it was off, they'd call you right back and make it quick.

Also, you probably passed the background check and it's been sent to HR who is preparing the final and official paperwork.  Or, the person in charge of it is out sick or on vacation.

I know of someone who worked for a Red Door Spa as an MT recently, and she didn't have very complimentary things to say about them as a company. She now has another job. Just saying.....

Lushy......
It's Thursday.... The reality is most managers are trying to tie up the loose ends so that they can take the weekend off and not have their cell phone ringing off the hook a gazillion times over the weekend.... How it works with us is we have to fax the background check form to our guy at the Fed's and he runs it for us...The he faxes it back to us... Then we go from there...You can see how any number of glitches in that process could interfere with that going smoothly...I would just relax and plan on calling sometime Monday during business hours...
Good luck,
Kali

Thanks Kali,

I was hoping to get your opinion since you are experienced with this sort of thing.

When you know that you weren't in trouble in the past then you should not worry about it  As others said it can take time sometimes and even when they already have it they might not have had a look at it yet or not have had the time yet to let you know...or they might have lost your details and so can't reach you (sorry, but that happened at one of my employers, where they are not able to get back in touch with a hired staff as they lost his or her details )

No I wouldn't be worried. Like you said, they are very busy and I would take that into account. I'd wait another 2-3 days and then touch base and see what was up.

Aw, Thanks Lushy... i'm honored... Truth be told, i can not tell You  how many times i've simply gotten busy and not gotten around to letting people know that it was okay for them to start..... It's not a good excuse, but it's the only one i've got...
Okay so now the important question....When are Ya'll going to move closer to me? Because i'm lonely here.
Kali

Since your background is clean there is no reason to worry.  Like several people have pointed out managers are often juggling too many tasks at once and who knows how slammed the HR Dept may be?  It's all going to go well for you.
