"The Giant Pool of Money" was an episode of This American Life that ran last year. It is about the mortgage crisis, and interviews people who were right in the middle of it, and what they were thinking. Mortgage salesman, Wall Street investors, homeowners, and government officials. It was one of the best damn broadcasts I've ever heard about this meltdown.
Today they're broadcasting Return to the Giant Pool of Money, where they're reprising most of the original broadcast, and following up on the people in the episode.
